Jason Isaacs has revealed what it was really like to work with ‘nepo baby’ Patrick Schwarzenegger on The White Lotus.
The Harry Potter star, 61, took on the role of Timothy Ratliff in the third season of the hit HBO drama while actor Patrick, 31, portrayed his on-screen son Saxon.
However, Jason said he had some preconceptions about what Patrick would be like, given he is the son of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver.
Revealing the truth about working with the ‘nepo baby’, Jason gushed that Patrick was far from the ‘horrible, spoiled young prince’ he thought he was going to be.
Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with The National Lottery, Jason said: ‘Let me tell you about Patrick Schwarzenegger because you would assume, being what they would now call a nepo baby, which is a slightly repulsive phrase.
‘I assumed I was going to meet some horrible, spoiled, young prince of Hollywood. [He’s] one of the nicest, most grounded, humble, lovely people I’ve ever met in my life. [He’s] become a very good friend.

Jason admitted he had some preconceptions about what Patrick would be like, given he is the son of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger (both pictured) and his ex-wife Maria Shriver
‘He knows exactly who his dad is, and he loves him for what he is, but he knows who he is, he’s not blinded to his faults as well.’
Jason sweetly said he ‘fell in love’ with Patrick and his other on-screen children Sarah Catherine Hook (Piper) and Sam Nivola (Lochlan) during his time on the show.
He said the three stars all formed close bonds with his real-life children Lily, 22, and Ruby, 19, who he shares with his wife Emma Hewitt.
‘[Patrick is] just a really wonderful young man, all the people who played my kids in it, I fell completely in love with,’ he told the Virgin Radio UK show.
‘What was odd is my real children arrived, and they bonded with them, because they’re closer to their age, and made me realise that my closest friends on the shoot, I was old enough to be their father.’
Jason made his debut on The White Lotus as businessman Timothy, who ends up in hot water over his questionable finances due to dodgy dealings with his colleague Kenny (Ke Huy Quan).
For the character, Jason talks with an American accent rather than his typical English tones, which divided viewers and left Jason forced to defend his performance.
He admitted he was left ‘hurt’ after seeing backlash to his North Carolinian accent and hit back at critics as he insisted the intonation is from a ‘very specific’ area.
‘It’s Durham. It’s not just North Carolina. It’s very specific,’ he told Esquire.

‘The Internet exploded with people going, ”This is the worst accent I’ve ever heard in my life”.’
‘But then there’s also people from Durham commenting, “Spot-on.” Or, “What are you talking about? He sounds exactly like my dad,” or my dentist, or my swim coach, or whomever,’ he added.
‘So I feel slightly validated, although I can’t pretend that those thousand little barbs don’t hurt.
‘I want to write back to each of them individually, and go, “Listen to this sample, then compare it to my voice.”
‘But it’s not really my job, and I shouldn’t be reading their comments.’
Jason previously revealed that he based his accent on a reality star from Southern Charm upon direction from director Mike White.
