Hopefully she can shake this off.
“Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller finds Taylor Swift’s dance moves “difficult to watch” — but praises the pop superstar’s choreographer, Mandy Moore, for camouflaging her apparent lack of coordination on the Eras Tour.
“She changed choreographers,” Miller, 59, notes during an exclusive interview with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
“So I think that Mandy Moore, who is a genius, she was so much more intelligent to have Taylor kind of stand and do her own thing and let the other dancers be working in couples or trios and this or that around her — rather than a whole big group of dancers and Taylor doing the same choreography.”
Miller, who previously vocalized her disdain for Swift’s rhythmic abilities on her “Leave It on the Dance Floor” podcast, believes the “Shake It Off” singer “got into trouble” when she tried mirroring her dancers move for move.
Before Moore stepped in to help, the Abby Lee Dance Company founder — who helped launched the careers of Maddie Ziegler, JoJo Siwa and more young dancers-turned-household names — found Swift’s performances “hard” to stomach.
“You’re trying to judge the choreography, but you’re looking at her not doing it correctly, being a beat behind, turning in her feet, all that,” Miller says of issues that she feels are no longer highlighted in Swift’s onstage displays.
“So it’s hard to judge what the choreography was, right? I think it’s smarter now [with Moore’s intervention],” she continues. “But yeah, I found it very difficult to watch.”
The reality TV personality — who currently stars in “Mad House” on Brandon TV — surmises that 35-year-old Swift’s dance skills, or lack thereof, are the product of a childhood spent “hunched over” a guitar.
“I think when she was a little girl, she was hunched over that guitar and she was writing music and creating music and she was working on her voice,” Miller says of Swift, emphasizing her belief that the 14-time Grammy winner did not spend much of her adolescence in a dance studio.
“Her mom [Andrea Swift] and dad [Scott Swift] weren’t doing the dancing school lessons,” the iconic dance coach deduces. “When she was a little kid, that wasn’t important.”
