Travis Kelce’s next-door neighbor is shedding light on the NFL star’s relationship timeline with Taylor Swift.
During a recent appearance on the “Social Game Podcast,” Wes Bergmann revealed he tried to tell people that Kelce was dating the pop star “months” before they first went public with their romance — but no one believed him.
“I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff. I tried to tell [host Michele Fitzgerald] a long time ago. I was like, ‘They’re together, just so you know’ … but she didn’t believe me,” he said.
“She didn’t believe it. She was like, ‘She only goes for artists,’” he continued. “I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.”
Fitzgerald said she had reason to be skeptical, noting that Swift typically goes for a “scrawnier” “brooding artist” rather than a “chivalrous, all-American football player.”
However, Bergmann, 41, called the Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, the perfect “boy next door.”
“He’s an enigma — on one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player,” he said of Kelce. “On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him.”
It’s unclear whether the “Challenge” alum actually witnessed the two together or if he just heard rumblings around town.
Bergmann previously shared that Kelce moved into his Leawood, Kan., neighborhood in November 2023 — months after he was linked to the singer.
In October 2023, the NFL star purchased a $6 million mansion in the area — about 30 minutes from his $1 million home in Kansas City’s ritzy Briarcliff West neighborhood.
In fact, Bergmann revealed he was once mistaken for the tight end while “exiting the gated community in [his] brand new beautiful truck.”
“The paparazzi snapped me and they thought I was Travis Kelce,” he said on the Feb. 5 episode of “Rob Has a Podcast,” noting that the pictures were “published” online.
“So I am apparently his doppelgänger,” the “Blox” alum added.
While it’s unclear exactly when Kelce and Swift first connected, the couple went public with their relationship in late September 2023 after she attended one of his football games.
Dating rumors began swirling a few months prior when Kelce tried to shoot his shot with the singer following her July 8 concert in Kansas City.
Kelce famously tried — and failed — to give Swift, 35, a friendship bracelet with his number on it — which caught her attention.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she shared with Time in December 2023.
“We started hanging out right after that,” she continued. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
Before their romance, Swift had a brief fling with 1975 frontman Matt Healy, which ended in early June.
Meanwhile, Kelce hadn’t been in a public relationship since 2022.
