Sanam Teri Kasam starring Harshvardhan Rane released 9 years ago and marked his debut in Bollywood. But the actor got the love and attention that he deserved only upon its re-release. And now, the directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have announced that they are ready with the story for part 2 and will release it around Valentine’s Day in 2026. Fans’ wish has certainly come true with this and this has also led to speculations about who will be the lead heroine. There is obviously a huge section of the audience who want to see Inder (Harshvardhan’s character) back with the OG Saru, played by Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane.
But there is also a certain section that wants to see Harsh romance Shraddha Kapoor in the part 2 of the love story. But who does Harshvardhan Rane want as his heroine? When we met the actor recently for an episode of Spotlight With Smrity, we asked him about the actress from the current lot on his wish list. And the actor’s response left us surprised.
“The background that I come from, the person who couldn’t even arrange for his own food… I am that base level employee in the scheme of things. So I will really not know and not just I, any other actor who is not a producer would not have an idea about this,” Harshvardhan said.
Further talking about his choice of actress from the current lot, Harshvardhan said, “I am someone jisko ped (tree) ke saamne bhi khada kar doge aur bologe isko romance karo, toh main woh bhi kar loonga.” He was referring to the last scene of the film Sanam Teri Kasam which is romantic yet emotional and has gone viral once again ever since the film re-released. Mawra Hocane’s pick for an actress in Sanam Teri Kasam 2
Interestingly, Mawra Hocane knows about the immense love that Sanam Teri Kasam has received and the interest around the leading lady in past 2. While she is excited and hopeful that things do work out and she gets to play Saru once again, she also knows that Shraddha Kapoor’s name has been doing the rounds and is a popular choice with fans. Reacting to the same in one of the interviews to an influencer, Mawra said, “I am a huge fan of Shraddha Kapoor and I feel that if she becomes a part of STK2, it will be a hit from the word go. And Sanam Teri Kasam will become bigger and I would love to be a part of the same franchise as her.”
Well, only time will tell who becomes the leading lady opposite Harshvardhan Rane. Meanwhile, the actor has signed a music love story Deewaniyat with Milap Zaveri and he was also seen with Omung Kumar recently, sparking speculations that another movie is on the cards.
