She added: ‘Never stop believing in love!! Love you all xxxx’.
Shona also shared a snap of Matt’s speech in full, which began: ‘Where do I begin, 1 year and 4 months ago we met for the first tie within a whirlwind of a journey, infact where we met is where we are standing right now, on a crazy show called Married at First Sight.’
Explaining his reasons for the semi proposal he continued: ‘Shona, I want to show how committed I am with this ring, and to promise you an amazing future with lots of fun, travelling and making memories.
‘We never had a wedding during the experiment so please take this as a vow that one day in the near future you will be my wife, and the gorgeous mother of my children.
‘You genuinely are my world and I cannot wait for our next chapter. Shona, I love you’.
Back in December 2023 the couple revealed they ‘definitely wanted to get married’ and have children together as they opened up about their relationship after just two months of dating.
Speaking in an interview with OK! Magazine, Matt and Shona said they would like to get married in the UK so their family can attend and have an ‘amazing honeymoon in Bali’.
Matt said: ‘We definitely want to get married. Getting married abroad would be lovely but logically we would do it in the UK for family coming. We do need money so there will be no ring anytime soon!

‘But I would love to propose at some point. Let’s see how the next year goes in terms of finances but it’s definitely on the cards!’
Shona added: ‘Yeah we’ve spoken about getting married. Matt has said he will wear a kilt because my family are Scottish. We’ve spoken about engagement rings, we just need the money first.’
The couple went on to say that they are also on the ‘same page with kids’ and are hoping to have two.
Shona continued: ‘I want two kids. I’m 32 next year so I definitely want babies in the next few years. It’s mental but when you know, you know, and it just works. And it can move at a healthy pace. I don’t even feel scared about anything.’
The couple confirmed their relationship in November 2023 after going on separate journeys on Married At First Sight.
Speaking previously to OK!, Shona revealed: ‘We have a really healthy, happy, safe, fun, relationship – I really appreciate Matt, it’s what I deserve, we deserve each other’.
Matt admitted they ‘had to be so careful’ to keep their romance secret and while it would have been ‘incredible’ to be paired together from the start, he conceded: ‘I think it happened this way around for a purpose.’
Shona was ejected from the experiment due to the toxicity of her marriage to husband Brad Skelly after he was accused of exhibiting ‘controlling’ and ‘manipulative’ behaviour.

Shona was ejected from the experiment due to the toxicity of her marriage to husband Brad Skelly after he was accused of exhibiting ‘controlling’ and ‘manipulative’ behaviour
Shona previously appeared on the It’s Not You, It’s Them, But It Might Be You podcast with LalalaletMeExplain as she told the dating expert about some of Brad’s behaviour that wasn’t shown on the Channel 4 show.
She started by saying: ‘So majority of Bradley’s inexcusable behaviour actually happened off camera and there was an incident after our third dinner party which then resulted in the experts intervening and choosing to send us home…
‘And I won’t share the details because it’s just too much. It’s too much for me to go into. But something I am happy to share with you is an example of something that didn’t make the edit, but it happened in front of people…
‘We were at a second CC and my friend, Laura in the cast, has just been called a gold digger by another cast member, Luke.
‘And a little bit of context, Bradley throughout the experiment, he’s done TV before. So he kept being like “don’t do this, don’t do that, I’m getting annoyed that you’re not listening to me and don’t rise to drama. We don’t rise to drama…
‘Your yoga vibes and meditation vibes”, blah, blah, blah. And I’m sat there and my heart’s going for Laura and I’m thinking I want to stick up for about hate confrontation, anyway, I do. And as soon as I do, Bradley, let’s go off my hand…
‘And he goes. “What the eff are you doing?” And I just freeze and I come like a deer in the headlights you see it in the edit and I kind of like stumble on my words, my argument is rubbish.’
An emotional Shona added: ‘I feel really embarrassed. And then he just goes “well done, you made a complete c*** out of yourself there”…
‘And I’m just sat there. “Bradley, you can’t talk to me like that.” I run to the toilet, have a massive panic attack and I have to sit on the couch.’
Matt meanwhile clashed with Adrienne with their contrasting views on children – with the former wanting to have kids and the latter not.
In the final week of the experiment when the topic of starting a family was brought up as Matt said: ‘Is there a reason why we shouldn’t work on the outside? We want to travel, we want to do bits and bobs. I would one day like to have kids.’
Getting serious, Adrienne replied: ‘I think we are in an amazing place and I think the world of you.
‘But it does worry me that you do want kids. I’ve always said ‘don’t want them’. And I’ve never met anybody that’s made me want to change that answer.’ Looking disappointed, Matt replied: ‘Ummm… do you think that it could be changed?’
