Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the movie saw Shah Rukh Khan as Mohan – Indian expatriate employed at NASA. It is one of the most critically acclaimed roles played by Shah Rukh Khan. Gayatri Joshi essayed the role of Gita and won hearts of all with her simplicity. While fans expected her career to fly with positive reviews, she took a step back and instead quit acting. She married businessman Vikas Oberoi and bid adieu to her acting journey.
Before making Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan, Gayatri Joshi was a successful video jockey. She then pursued a career in modelling. She participated in Femina Miss India beauty pageant in 1999 and was among the top 5 finalists. Later, she won the Femina Miss International in 2000. She also appeared in a lot of advertisements. In 2004, she stepped into Bollywood with the movie Swades. But in a year, in 2005, she married Vikas Oberoi.
Vikas Oberoi is one of the richest business tycoons in India. He runs and controls Oberoi Realty. As per reports, his net worth is around Rs 50,000 crore. He owns Westing Hotel in Mumbai. Vikas and Gayatri have two sons. The actress has distanced herself from the film industry and is happily enjoying the family life.
Recently, Gayatri Joshi was spotted with Sonali Bendre as they accompanied 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson to her trip to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai.
