This is fatherhood.
Milo Ventimiglia’s wife, Jarah Mariano, announced the birth of their first child just weeks after losing their home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
“Houseless, never homeless. Welcome back Ke’ala Coral Ventimiglia 🌈 1.23.25,” the model wrote on Instagram Friday.
She continued, “Jan 7th my family & I evacuated from the Palisades Fire. We lost our home that we were living in & everything we own, as well as our home under construction that we were about to move into. I was 38 weeks pregnant & I had done an evacuation only a few weeks prior during the Franklin Fire as well.”
Despite the horrific situation, Mariano saw “it as a gift” that she “was able to essentially do a practice run for what was inevitably to come.”
“I’m also forever grateful that we were able to evacuate from the Palisades Fire in the daytime, when we could feel more prepared & not caught completely off guard in the middle of the night, for example,” she wrote.
Despite losing everything, Mariano noted that their family is “together, happy, healthy & safe, which is truly all that matters.”
She thanked all the “heroes” who stepped up during their time of need.
“This will be an extended process of rebuilding and grieving for many, but we are feeling optimistic & inspired to welcome all of the exciting newness of our fresh start!”
Mariano concluded the announcement by asking for “time & space to nest with [their] newborn in such a delicate phase.”
“We already have everything we need in abundance & will be back around with updates in our own time,” she concluded.
The model, 40, told her Instagram followers that she had a “baby on board” by posting surfing snaps in September.
The then-pregnant star cradled her budding belly in a bikini at the time.
While Ventimiglia, 47, was behind the camera, his hand made an appearance in one shot in a “hang loose” gesture.
The actor has kept his romance out of the spotlight since he and Mariano first sparked romance rumors in 2022.
In October of the following year, news broke that they had tied the knot.
Us Weekly reported in 2023 that the pair, who live together in Malibu, privately wed in front of their family members and close friends.
The bride didn’t publicly confirm their nuptials until September 2024.
She shared black-and-white snaps of herself and Ventimiglia showing PDA at the altar during the secret ceremony.
“Last year I married my best friend,” Mariano told her Instagram followers. “There aren’t enough words that exist to describe all the special qualities that make him who he is.
“AlI can say is that I am grateful for the life that we have together and the happiness that we have created🤍,” she concluded. “Aloha wau iā ‘oe my husband Milo.”
Ventimiglia has yet to post about their wedding on social media.
In addition to portraying Jack Pearson on “This Is Us,” the Emmy nominee is best known for roles on “Gilmore Girls” and “Heroes.”
He previously dated co-stars Alexis Bledel and Hayden Panettiere from the respective shows.
