A massive Pacific Palisades mansion, that was reportedly featured in Succession, has been destroyed by the fires raging through Los Angeles.
The house, reportedly owned by tech executive Austin Russell, appears to be the same palatial estate shown in the fourth season premiere of the hit HBO drama, where the Roy siblings were holed up as they strategized over their next move to take on their father.
The Daily Mail has published photos showing the house reduced to rubble and charred beams.
The Mail adds that nothing remains of the once elaborate interior, highlighted in this video tour, as the four-story property has collapsed in on itself, with even the home’s panic rooms and retinal scanner outside of the master bedroom damaged by the fire. Outside, while the house’s fire pit remains intact, it is now black with soot and the outdoor pool contains murky black water.
The six-bedroom, 18-bath house, known as the San Onofre estate, featured a Nobu-designed chef’s kitchen, a 20-seat movie theater, retractable roof for stargazing, temperature-controlled wine lounge, auto gallery and spa. The home was reportedly built by developer Ardie Tavangarian in 2020 and sold to Russell for $83 million in 2021, according to multiple reports.
Russell is the founder and CEO of automotive technology company Luminar, which develops products that help with building autonomous cars.
The news comes as the L.A. wildfires, including the Palisades fire, have left 11 people dead and more than 12,000 structures burned across roughly 56 square miles, since the blazes began on Tuesday.
The reported Succession home is just the latest TV show and movie filming location to be affected by the fires, with a Spanish Colonial revival mansion in Altadena that was featured in Hacks and used as a location for Hulu’s Marvel series Runaways, destroyed in the Eaton Fire. The Palisades Charter High School, where movies like Carrie and 2003’s Freaky Friday were filmed, has also been destroyed along with the Will Rogers Ranch house and McNally House in Altadena used in Entourage and Our Flag Means Death.
Meanwhile, the Altadena house that served as the exterior for the Walsh family home in Beverly Hills, 90210, has been spared.
