Jacqueline Bisset expressed that she is not sympathetic when it comes to #MeToo stories and stated how women dress is ‘important.’
The British star, 80 – who is notably the godmother of Angelina Jolie – candidly opened up about the topic during an interview with Page Six published on Saturday.
‘I understand as an idea, it’s important that men behave, but I do really think it’s important that women behave, too,’ she explained to the outlet.
‘I think how you dress, what your subtext is very, very important. It’s very dangerous and not to be played with.’
The Sweet Ride actress said she felt women are not to blame if ‘you don’t know anything about men’ and added that she was ‘very unsympathetic to these stories, these #MeToo things.’
The #MeToo movement was first founded in 2006 by Tarana Burke, but became more well-known in 2017 when the Harvey Weinstein abuse allegations came to light.
Jacqueline Bisset, 80, expressed that she is not sympathetic when it comes to #MeToo stories and stated how women dress is ‘important’; seen in October 2024 in L.A.
Other male stars that were brought down by the movement over the years include Bill Crosby, Matt Lauer and R. Kelly.
‘You have to be very careful what you put out [there],’ Jacqueline continued to Page Six.’
‘[Women] need to learn the word “no” or the F-word or something and you have to do it and you can get through it without any problem.’
Bisset stated that she never experienced a form of sexual harassment, especially after her start in the entertainment in the 1960s.
The actress expressed, ‘I was very determined not to have anything happen to me and I was completely devoted to that idea.’
The star previously shared her thoughts on the #MeToo movement back in 2018, not long after over 80 women made allegations of sexual harassment or rape against Weinstein.
The disgraced film producer is set for a retrial later this year in April on New York rape charges, per NBC.
In 2022, he was found guilty on two counts of sexual assault and one count of rape in L.A. and sentenced to 16 years in prison. However, his legal team is attempting to appeal the conviction.

As the Golden Globes ceremony took place in 2018, she slammed all forms of sexual harassment but later added, ‘Women are very much up in arms and I’m very much in between.’
Bisset also stated that she never wanted to sleep her way to the top in the industry.
‘I felt that if it didn’t work out for me I’d go back home and live my life. I totally wanted to be an actress but not at any price. I was just very well brought-up.’
‘When I used to hear about the casting couch my feeling was: What did you gain by doing that? I’ve never done anything to get a job. Nothing,’ the actress expressed.
The star continued, ‘Why would you give up something precious to somebody without any emotion? It was out of the question for me to get a job by going on the casting couch.’
The Rich And Famous star shared that men did approach her inappropriately in the past and said, ‘I always had a very English attitude to it.’
‘I’d get very cold towards them and freeze them out. That’s how I handled it. I think that’s how my generation handled it,’ Jacqueline added, but shared that female stars speaking out on harassment is justified.
At the time, Bisset stated that Weinstein had always been ‘polite’ to her and added, ‘I can only judge by my own experience. I was shocked though when I heard the rape allegations. Shocked…’

The star later expressed that there were some levels of sexual harassment that she did not understand.
‘When you hear that somebody’s leg got touched in 1986 or whenever it was, you think, “Big deal. So what?” If that sort of thing happens you say loudly, “Excuse me!” And get up and walk away from the table.’
‘But when you hear about rape it’s horrible and another ball game.’
However, when it comes to the #MeToo movement, Bisset supported it only to a certain point.
‘Women are very much up in arms and I’m very much in between,’ the star said, before admitting she was worried about ‘being ripped apart’ by others who didn’t agree with her.
Bisset has been keeping busy and last month in January, stepped out to present an award to her goddaughter Angelina Jolie for her role in Maria during the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The star put on a glowing display in a black gown and while talking to Page Six, the actress briefly opened up about how she stays fit and healthy at 80.
She explained that she stays ‘active’ and also credited a clean and healthy diet. ‘I eat lots and lots of vegetables and I steam them.’
‘I personally believe that you could change the health of Americans if the government gave everybody a steaming basket and a pot and taught them how to steam food.’
Jacqueline added, ‘It’s so delicious! And you also need a bottle of cold-pressed olive oil and a lemon. You can absolutely eat like a queen with steamed vegetables, olive oil and lemon!’
