Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Samridhii Shukla shares opinion on her co-actors getting hate for their roles, says ‘Character assassination…’

Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit starrer Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has taken a leap. After seven years, we see Abhira staying with Dadisa and Vidya in a small chawl after they were removed from the Poddar house by Krish and Sanjay. They run a small saree business to earn money. Abhira goes on searching for her lost baby girl. She visits the police station every month to check if they have found her baby girl. However, she is unaware that Armaan who blamed her for losing the baby, found their baby seven years ago. But instead of informing her, he just ran away with the baby.

Armaan now stays in Mount Abu with his daughter, Maira. Geetanjali is their neighbour and also Armaan’s friend. However, Maira wants them to get married so that she can have a mother. We have seen that Armaan is still the same as he was seven years ago. He is over-possessive about Maira and just runs behind being the perfect father.

Samridhii on actors facing hatred

Many of the show’s fans have been upset with this behaviour from Armaan and they have been throwing hate at Rohit for troubling Abhira. Earlier, even Garvita Sadhwani had opened up about people calling her ‘lusty bhabhi’ when Ruhi turned negative in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Many times, we see the actors getting hate for the characters they play on-screen.

The audience usually forgets the difference between a character and an actor. Now, Samridhii Shukla has opened up about the same. Speaking to Filmibeat, she said that is ok to dislike a character because that is beyond us as we do not write the story but hating the person playing that role is bad. This is a big story in entertainment news and TV news.

She added that she has seen it happening with many other actors where they face character assassination, age shaming, skin shaming and it really bothers her. She feels that if people wish to criticise, they can criticise acting. She further said that even Abhira and Armaan have got so much hate but it is about the characters so one should not be affected. However, she has seen some of her costars facing hatred and it is not cool at all.
