Jordan Belfort has shared a touching video that Rob Reiner sent to his father, Max Belfort, before his death six years ago.

Reiner famously played Max in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 biopic “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which saw Leonardo DiCaprio star as the former stockbroker-turned-financial criminal.

“Hey, Mr. Belfort. It’s Rob Reiner, I played you in the movie. It was a privilege,” the late “Stand by Me” director said in the clip from Sept. 2019.

“Got to know your son and I know he’s with you now and everybody that you love is with you now,” Reiner added. “And I just wanted to say hi and you gave me a great thrill to be able to play you in the film.”

Jordan, who shared the video on Instagram two days after Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, paid tribute to the beloved filmmaker in the caption of the sweet clip.

“Rob Reiner sent this to my father on his death bed,” Jordan, 63, wrote. “Truly a class act. RIP.”

“The Wolf of Wall Street” was based on Jordan’s 2007 memoir of the same name and starred Reiner and DiCaprio alongside Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandler.

The epic black comedy crime film was nominated for five Academy Awards, and Reiner opened up about how he came to play Max shortly before its release in Dec. 2013.

“It’s basically: he calls,” the “Princess Bride” director told HuffPost of Scorsese casting him. “Then if he calls – and if you’re smart — you just do what he says.”

“He’s one of the great filmmakers of all time, so if he asks you to be in a movie, then, you know, you just go and do what he tells you to do,” he added.

Reiner also discussed his role as Jordan’s father in the film during his chat with the outlet.

“Yeah, they call him Mad Max for a reason,” he shared. “I mean, the guy has got a volatile temper, and he gets crazy, but then he tries to rein everything in, you know?”

“When he sees his son going off the deep end, he tries to rein him in, to no avail,” the “All in the Family” alum continued. “It’s like a parent watching your child run into the street and the car is coming, and he’s going to be hit by the car, and you’re so helpless to do anything – and you have to watch it happen.”

Reiner, 78, and his wife, 68, were found stabbed to death at their home in Brentwood on Sunday afternoon by their 28-year-old daughter, Romy.

The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, was taken into custody that night and booked on suspicion of murdering his parents. The LAPD said in a Monday press release that the 32-year-old was being held without bail.

The “When Harry Met Sally” director and his wife of 36 years also shared son Jake, 34. He had another daughter, Tracy, 61, whom he adopted during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” the couple’s loved ones said in an emotional statement on Sunday night. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

Although Nick was expected to appear in LA court on Tuesday for his arraignment, he failed to show because he was not yet “medically cleared.”
