Halle Berry has said women have to ‘reclaim the narrative’ that they are ‘done’ at ’50, 60 or 70′ as she spoke out about ageing in Hollywood.

The actress, 59, gave her thoughts on getting older while discussing her role as Sharon Coombs in the upcoming film, Crime 101.

Speaking to Variety, Halle noted she will be turning 60 in August and feels like she is just at the beginning of her second act.

She said: ‘I know how marginalised women feel when they get around those numbers.

‘It’s a message to whoever has the ears and the heart to absorb it. As women, we have to reclaim that narrative. We’re not done at 50, 60, even 70.

‘We have so much more to offer. I’m 60 this year and I feel like I’m just getting my second groove started so, not done.’

The Oscar-winner recently said said she is ‘not going to allow myself to be erased’ while speaking about getting older.

She told The Cut: ‘You get to this age where you feel like you’re being marginalized, devalued. You feel it at work. You feel it from society.

‘But I have adamantly decided I am not going to allow myself to be erased. That’s why I’m on my menopause mission. I’m going to be louder than I have ever been.’

Halle launched Raspin, a menopause and women’s health care platform which aims to redefine—or re-spin—the conversation around menopause and perimenopause in 2020.

She has since rebranded it to more directly target women’s health and longevity.

During her interview, the Oscar-winner said she wants to tackle the stigma of vaginal dryness.

‘Look, it happens to more than 60 percent of women as we get older. Everything gets dry! If we talk about it and laugh about it, there’s no more shame or embarrassment,’ she said.

‘I’m almost 60. Fighting for women’s health feels like a formidable cause for my second act.’

Halle previously sent fans wild on her 59th birthday when she posted a snap of herself in a bikini while soaking up the sun in Bora Bora.

The star paraded her fit 5ft5in figure in a gold sparkly Monday Swimwear ‘Palma’ bikini set while perched on a soft platform over the water.

Halle completed her South Pacific style with a black-and-white checkered head scarf, dark aviator sunglasses, and plenty of jewelry.

The reaction on X was swift with user @Nephil_Him declaring: ‘The older the Berry [the] sweeter the juice.’

‘Where can I sell my soul to look like this at 59?’ X user @CharliexLevine asked. X user @current_tweet tweeted: ‘We’re not old, we’re just poor.’

Last year Halle left Gayle King lost for words after proudly declaring that her vagina is ‘juicy like a peach’ during an appearance on CBS Morning.

The actress made the admission when Gayle said: ‘The other thing that I love that you’re talking about menopause because most people think menopause is dry vaginas, and you’re all done’.

Halle then cheekily quipped: ‘It did mean that for a minute. Now I’m juicy like the peach!’

Menopause is when your periods stop due to lower hormone levels. It typically affects women between the ages of 45 and 55, but it can happen earlier.

After the break, Halle shared that she had discovered she was menopausal in the ‘most horrific way’.

She said: ‘I was diagnosed with herpes instead of a menopausal symptom, you know, and that got me awakened to the idea that if I had this little information, I wonder what millions of other women don’t have.

‘And then it just started snowballing and I realized that only we, women, can destigmatize this by talking about it, making it okay, talking about it with our husbands, our partners, our sons, our co-workers.

Halle has been very vocal about her experience and even held a speech at Capitol Hill in May in which she asked for legislation to fund better research and education for it.
