‘We are all bhands…,’ Nawazuddin Siddiqui shares his views on actors dancing at weddings

There has always been debate over actors performing at wedding. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his latest interview got candid about the same. The actor is known for his impeccable performances in content driven movies. He is among those unconventional actors who has always chosen to pick films that showcase his versatility. In the latest interview, the actor was asked about actors performing at wedding and was asked whether he would agree to it if given an opportunity. Here’s what he said.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a chat on All About Eve YouTube channel mentioned that he does not find anything wrong with actors dancing at weddings as it is a part of the profession. He spoke about people complaining about it and asked what is the problem with it. He also called actors ‘bhands’. He said, “At the end of the day, we are all ‘bhands’ (entertainers). Did you know that in the past, ‘bhands’ wouldn’t be allowed to mingle in polite society? They were seen as unfit; they were seen as people who didn’t have any ideologies or beliefs, bad influences. They were kept in tents outside villages. They would only be allowed to enter to perform, and then they’d be sent right back out.” This has made headlines in entertainment news.

Currently, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is in the news because of his latest release – Costao. The actor plays the role of a Customs officer based in Goa. The story is about how he risks everything to bust a gold smuggling business. The film directed by Sejal Shah is currently streaming on Zee 5. His next movie is Section 108. The actor has wrapped up the filming of the same. It is in post production phase. He also has Noorani Chehra in his kitty. Reportedly, the sequel of his film Raat Akeli Hai is also on cards. He played the role of a cop in this one.
