Tess Daly still has her wedding ring on weeks after Vernon Kay split as she and Amanda Holden lead the stars wowing in tennis white on day one of Wimbledon

Tess Daly continued to sport her wedding and engagement ring while leading the celebrity glamour as Wimbledon kicked off on Monday. 

The newly-single Strictly star, 57, announced last month that she was splitting from husband Vernon Kay, yet has maintained her marital jewels. 

She looked sensational in a lace gown as she arrived at the sporting event alongside her business partner and pal Gayle Lawton while Amanda Holden was in attendance to inject yet more glamour into the chic day out. 

They were joined the opera singer Katherine Jenkins, 46, in wearing white looks in a nod to the tennis tournament’s launch day, while Pixie Lott wore a thigh-skimming mini and Katherine Ryan joined her tennis wear-clad husband Bobby Koostra. 

Isla Fisher and Maura Higgins took to social media to share snaps before arriving at the big day, with the former joined by her brother and the latter showcasing Chanel accessories with a kooky tennis theme. 

In May, Tess and Vernon, 52, explosively revealed they were parting ways after 23 years of marriage, with a sensational statement shocking fans. 

In a joint announcement, the former Strictly host and DJ said they had reached a mutual agreement to go their separate ways, though friends of the couple said they were both still at their marital home in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, yesterday.

The couple wrote: ‘After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.

‘This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us…

‘We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time.

‘We will not be making any further public comments.’

Tess and Vernon – thought to be worth around £10million – were last seen publicly together in February of this year when they hosted an episode of The One Show. 

The couple share daughters , Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16. 

Other stars at the event included Amanda, who wowed in a pinstripe two-piece as she posed up a storm outside the courts. 

Amanda’s Heart FM co-host Ashley Roberts looked incredible in a white mini dress with buttons extending along the bust. 

Tipping Point star Alexander Armstrong looked stylish in a blue suit as he arrived hand in hand with his wife Hannah.

As the celebrities descended on the South London home of trennis, play on the outside courts is underway in the 139th edition of Wimbledon.

Among the early matches on the opening day of the grass-court Grand Slam: Fourth-seeded Jessica Pegula was playing Darja Vidmanova on No. 2 Court; Rafael Jodar was playing Felix Gill on No. 3 Court; and French Open finalist Maja Chwalinska was playing Mananchaya Sawangkaew on Court 12.

Later Monday, defending champion Jannik Sinner was to open play on Centre Court against Miomir Kecmanovic, followed by top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka against Teodora Kostovic and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic against Wu Yibing.
