The GoFundMe page explains that Zapata ‘suffered a devastating accident that left him with serious burns to his body.
‘Due to the severity of his injuries, he is currently in the ICU in an induced coma while the doctors provide the critical care he needs.’
The fundraiser, which was opened by friends, described this as ‘an incredibly traumatic and uncertain time for Gian, his family, and everyone who loves him.’
Donations will be used to lessen his ‘financial burden’ while he is unable to work, including medical and rehabilitation costs not covered by insurance or Medicare, rent, and ‘travel, accommodation and support expenses for family members’.
Besides his marketing agency, Zapata also runs APX Members Club, which he describes as an, ‘Exclusive lifestyle club for investors, innovators and icons.’
The business, one of several he has founded in the hospitality and marketing sectors, operates around the world, including in Miami, Dubai, Ibiza, Monaco and Milan.
Zapata has extensively shown off his bevy of beautiful female friends, his yacht parties and high-class dinners in his social media photos.
