This is the humiliating moment a ‘slurring’ Britney Spears was forced to undergo a sobriety test before being handcuffed in shock dashcam footage from her March 4 DUI arrest.
The 44-year-old pop icon was pursued by police after she was allegedly seen driving erratically at high speeds on the southbound side of US-101 near Newbury Park, California around 9pm PT.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Spears was arrested on ‘suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs’ with a police report later revealing Spears said she had taken ‘Adderall and Prozac’ before driving.
In the newly-released footage of the moment that Spears would have surely hoped was behind her after pleading guilty to DUI this month, the troubled singer was seen failing a sobriety test at the side of the highway.
Wearing what police described as a ‘worn green dress’, sandals and a large fedora hat, Spears was filmed being questioned at the side of the road.
An officer was seen shining a light into her eyes as she turned her head to the side numerous times.

Per the police report, it was claimed Spears said that she was not feeling well and did not want to complete field sobriety tests at the scene.
The report read: ‘Spears related the lights were hurting her head and did not want to continue the test. Spears was unable or unwilling to follow my finger throughout the test.
‘Spears continued to move her head throughout the test after being instructed to keep her head still. Spears related that she was blind in her left eye, but was able to see my finger.’
Spears is then seen being handcuffed and when she is led out of frame, Spears asks if they took her phone – with police reassuring her it is still in her purse.
Further footage of Spears driving erratically for more than three minutes was also released – with the singer flashing her lights but failing to stop promptly as police pursued her.
A police report obtained by The Daily Mail sheds concerning new light on the chaotic night, and reveals Spears told officers she had taken ‘Adderall and Prozac’ as well as drank a mimosa before driving.
Officers detected ‘a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage’ from inside Spears’ BMW when she was pulled over, per the report.
The ‘confrontational’ star had first been stopped by police after they saw her car illegally crossing into another lane.
‘[The subject] continued to drive in the #2 lane and did not immediately react to my emergency lights. I activated the [police car’s] siren to get the driver’s attention,’ the officer wrote.

The singer allegedly admitted to having ‘one champagne mimosa’ seven hours prior and a meal of ice cream at 3pm.
Per the report, Spears confirmed she had taken multiple prescription drugs that day – ‘200mg of anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer Lamictal, 40mg of antidepressant Prozac and 2.5 mg of ADHD medication Adderall. ‘
She allegedly told an officer: ‘I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you, I’m an angel.’
Following a physical check at the scene, Spears was determined to have ‘red and watery eyes’ with her pupils dilated and she confirmed she was a ‘zero’ on a sobriety scale of zero to 10.
The singer later passed two chemical breath tests.
The report details that an officer found a ‘brown purse that contained a bottle of pills labeled Adderall, which were not prescribed to Spears.
‘The officer] also observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and passenger seat.’
According to the report, an officer ‘instructed Spears to exit the [car], but she initially refused. Spears related she had been pranked and harassed in the past and did not want to exit.’
Spears said she ‘wanted to speak to her lawyer and had the right as a woman not to exit her vehicle’ but eventually stepped out after 10 minutes.
‘I detected the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and person. Her speech was rapid and slurred, her gait was unsteady, and she was fidgeting with her fingers’ the officer claimed in the report.

Spears allegedly had ‘drastic mood swings’ during her arrest and was said to be speaking in a British accent. Per the report her mood changed from ‘confrontational and agitated to flamboyant.’
She was taken to CHP Moorpark Office for a Drug Recognition Evaluation, before moving onto Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, for a blood draw.
The DRE determined Spears was under the influence of a Central Nervous System (CNS) stimulant.
An officer claimed per the report: ‘In an attempt to delay the blood draw, Spears related she needed to use the restroom. While in the restroom. Spears became argumentative and belligerent. I placed Spears in handcuffs and placed her in the right front seat of the [police vehicle].
Spears pleaded guilty to a DUI earlier this month, just two months after her arrest. She was sentenced to 12 months probation.
Following her arrest she had checked into a substance abuse rehab facility for three weeks.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Britney Spears and The Ventura County Sheriffs Office for further comment.
Following the March arrest, a representative for the singer told the Daily Mail: ‘This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in the long-overdue changes that need to occur in her life.
‘Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.
‘Her boys are going to be spending time with her, and her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue plan to set her up for success and wellbeing.’
Spears has had very public personal struggles for nearly two decades.
In 2007, the star famously suffered a harrowing breakdown after exhibiting worrying behavior in the months leading up to her infamous psychiatric hold.
The then 25-year-old had fans concerned after she shaved her head and attacked a paparazzi’s car with a green umbrella, before she checked into a rehab facility.
The Toxic singer suffered another setback after a disastrous performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, when her performance of Gimme More was heavily criticized by both fans and critics alike.
Then, in January 2008, she was put under lockdown at a facility after refusing to hand over her young son to her ex-husband Federline.
More recently, Spears has been open about issues with her family, as in early February, when she claimed she is ‘scared’ of them and ‘lucky to be alive’ in a bombshell social media post.
Spears has had a contentious relationship with her family members for years following her 13-year conservatorship that ended in November 2021.

This month Spears reportedly caused a chaotic scene, barking and carrying a knife, during a night out at a Los Angeles restaurant, just days after leaving rehab.
Spears appeared agitated during her visit to the Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks, according to multiple witnesses.
Her representative told the Daily Mail: ‘This is completely blown out of proportion. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors.’
