Rihanna was spotted stepping out in New York City on Sunday while en route to Jay-Z’s concert at Yankee Stadium.

She rocked a Roc-A-Fella jersey as she repped the record label the 56-year-old rapper founded in the 1990s.

The sighting of the singer, who is signed to Jay-Z’s entertainment and management company Roc Nation, in company merch comes amid rumors that she may be performing at his concert during his sold-out three-night run at Yankee Stadium.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Rihanna’s representatives for comment but hasn’t yet heard back.

Rihanna, 38, showed off her casual-chic sense of style as she paired the black oversize jersey with baggy track pants and flip-flops.

She wore her hair in a slicked-back bun and accessorized with large, wraparound sunglasses as well as silver, statement jewelry.

On Saturday evening, Rihanna was also seen stepping out by herself for a night out in New York City while A$AP Rocky was presumably with their three young children.

The Diamonds hitmaker appeared to be wearing the same, eye-catching silver jewelry but paired with an all-black evening ensemble.

She wore a distressed, long-sleeved top with a peplum-inspired silhouette paired with semi-sheer, patterned pants and mesh heels.

On Sunday night, Jay-Z will perform the last show in his three-night run at Yankee Stadium.

The final night has been dubbed ‘Extra Innings,’ and the closing show will see the hitmaker perform a career-spanning setlist as part of his JAŸ-Z30 takeover.

The weekend residency is in celebration of the 30-year anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, his debut album, on Friday night.

On Saturday night, he highlighted another memorable music era of his as he marked the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, his sixth studio album.

On the first two nights of the weekend, Jay-Z’s guest performers included his wife Beyoncé, their daughter Blue Ivy Carter as well as Pharrell Williams, Nas, Eminem, Alicia Keys and Slick Rick.

The night before, Rihanna was spotted heading out of her hotel in New York City for a night out, but she did not appear to be going to Jay-Z’s second night show on Saturday

Rihanna did not make a surprise onstage appearance during Jay-Z’s Saturday night show, though fans speculated that she might.

Many were anticipating the Bajan baddie to join the rapper to perform Run This Town, a track that also features Kanye West from Jay-Z’s 2009 album The Blueprint 3.

Over the years, Rihanna and Jay-Z have collaborated on three hit songs.

The pair won a Grammy for their 2007 smash hit Umbrella, which was released on Rihanna’s third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad.

In 2010, they once again won two Grammy Awards for their 2009 song Run This Town with West.

The following year, Rihanna released Talk That Talk, the title track of her sixth studio album, featuring a guest verse from Jay-Z.

Rihanna’s critically acclaimed music career had already started taking off when she auditioned for the record label Def Jam, of which Jay-Z had just been made president and CEO in 2005.

She was just 17 at the time and had previously spoken about her New York audition experience in an appearance on The Tyra Banks Show that same year.

The clip of Rihanna discussing her initial interaction with Jay-Z has resurfaced on a number of occasions over the years.

She recalled how he had, at the time, joked about ‘throwing her out the window’ off of the 29th floor if she didn’t sign a deal with him.

‘It was actually a really good audition, but before I met him I was so nervous, I was shaking, literally,’ Rihanna recalled.

‘The moment I walked into the office, the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming… I had to sing, I sang Pon De Replay, I sang another ballad from the album,’ she continued as she referred to her first major hit and debut single released earlier that same year.

‘And what did he say to you? He said something to you,’ Banks asked.

‘He said, “We don’t sign songs here. We sign artists,”‘ Rihanna recalled. ‘And there was this little pause, and I was nervous, and then he said, “And we’re interested,” and there was this sudden feel of relief.’

Banks pressed: ‘But then he said something about a window and a door?’

Rihanna laughed before continuing: ‘Oh! Then, he said there are two ways to leave here; either through the door with the deal signed or through this window and were on the 29th floor.’

Banks added: ‘So you were like, where’s the pen! Where’s the paper! I’m signing!’

Jay-Z later also said that they kept Rihanna in the meeting for around 12 hours to make sure she didn’t sign with another label.

Speaking to Group82Music.com in a 2020 interview, the rapper said: ‘We signed her that night. We didn’t let her leave the office till three in the morning.’

Record executive L.A. Reid, who had hired Jay-Z for Def Jam, spoke about the audition in his memoir, Sing to Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who’s Next.

In an excerpt shared by Billboard in 2016, the businessman revealed he told Jay-Z to ‘not let her leave the building.’

‘I saw her determination, her commitment. I saw someone who was going to be a big star someday. My head was spinning,’ he said.
