Pete Davidson is coming for your sock drawer.
The comedian and actor, 31, has been appointed creative director of Doublesoul, a New York City-based sock brand.
As it turns out, Davidson, who is known for his colorful, quirky style, has turned down fashion partnership opportunities in the past when he didn’t “really know how to do it.”
This role, though? “Everyone needs socks,” the “Kind of Staten Island” actor told W Magazine about his reasoning for pursuing this venture.
He continued, “Socks are an afterthought: You get a 20-pack at Foot Locker, or you’re going to the gas station and buying Barbie socks, or socks with burgers on them.”
And Davidson wasted no time jumping into the process.
“Within minutes of sitting down, he was sharing a list of ideas that reflected his deep insight about what shapes cultural relevance,” Doublesoul’s co-founder Allison Strumeyer said to the outlet about their first meeting with the comedian.
As someone who has been in the spotlight since they were 19, Davidson has picked up a few fashion lessons along the way.
“Stay away from what other people think is cool, and get what you think is cool, because that’s original,” he explained, noting that some people in the industry are “just wearing their money.”
But the former “SNL” star doesn’t count himself as someone who’s always gotten it right, admitting that he has been oversaturated.
“When you’re first coming up, and getting all these offers, it’s hard to say no, because you’re hungry,” he said in the interview. “I made the mistake of doing literally everything.”
Now, he sticks to an important life motto: less is more.
When it comes to his fashion sense, he likes to break the sartorial mold. “I’ve always dressed a little different and people seem to like it,” he noted.
After confessing to falling victim to the Supreme craze as a teenager, he’s had a fashion glow-up as of late.
“I got into the public eye when I was really young, like, 19, 20. At that time, you don’t know. You see all these rappers with designer s—t, and you think you’re a rapper, but you’re actually a comedian,” he said.
Davidson added, “If you Google any picture of me from ages 20 to 27, it’s purple shirts, fedoras, all these chains, and f—king dumb Rolexes. It doesn’t look cool at all. But I’m very fortunate that I’m 31 now. Looking back. I’m lucky that I finally woke up.”
Though he’s widely recognized for his comedy chops, Davidson is no stranger to the style world.
In 2022, the “Bupkis” actor was the face of H&M’s menswear campaign and, in 2021, partnered up with Calvin Klein for a spell.
Davidson even made his modeling debut at Alexander Wang’s Collection1 2020 show in June 2019.
It’s safe to say he may just take the fashion world by storm.
