People We Meet on Vacation
Truly good rom-com’s are a dying breed but Netflix’s new People We Meet on Vacation aims to resurrect a classic, comforting genre. The film, based on the novel of the same name, follows Poppy and Alex in dual-timelines. In the past time-line their friendship develops through yearly holidays around the world. In the current day, the long-time friends reunite for a wedding in Barcelona after a years-long estrangement.
Three dimensional characters with palpable chemistry and plenty of humour and hijinx. A perfect film to see you through the winter days.
His & Hers

Netflix’s newest thriller, His & Hers, starts on a suspicious note: one woman lying bloodied, another returning home to scrub the blood from her hands. The series follows Anna, a news anchor determined to breathe life back into her career by investigating a shocking murder case, and Jack, a volatile detective. The star-studded cast manage to bring gravitas to lines that could otherwise feel out of place. While the series doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it does drive it in a new direction, making for a gripping and wholly entertaining watch.
