Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will undergo a hysterectomy after she revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis.
“I’m not great with pain, so thinking about removing an organ is scary,” the “Jersey Shore” star told People about the forthcoming surgical removal of her uterus.
“That’s a part of being a woman and even though I’m done having kids, the thought of not being able to really upset me,” Polizzi, who shares kids Lorenzo Dominic, 13, Giovanna Marie, 11, and Angelo James, 6, with husband Jionni LaValle, added.
“It messes with you a little bit.”
In January, Polizzi, 38, broke down in tears as she revealed that she had to undergo an “uncomfortable” colposcopy and biopsy due to abnormal pap smear results and precancerous cells.
“Results come back. Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix,” she said in a TikTok video, adding that she’ll now need a cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing.
The following month, the MTV star shared that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer.
“Obviously not the news I was hoping for, but also not the worst news, just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking god,” she said on TikTok in February.
“2026 is not panning out the way I want it to but it could be worse,” the “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star added.
“Everything is going to be fine. I’m going to tackle this and get it done. We got some steps to do,” she added.
Polizzi told People that she “had a breakdown” following the cancer news.
“I got to my car and I called my mom hysterically crying, thinking the worst,” she said.
The toughest part for the “Dancing with the Stars” alum has been telling the news to her children.
“My two oldest were like, ‘Are you dying?’ Because they know what cancer is, it scared them a little bit,” she told the outlet.
“But I was reassuring them like, ‘No, mommy’s gonna be fine,’” she shared.
LaValle, 39, and her friends have also been “rallying” around Polizzi.
“The best part about everything is realizing how many people care,” she said. “I have a ton of people that are here for me and they love me.”
