The glamour industry is not an easy one. We all get to see the shinning bright side of it but there is a lot of struggle that one has to put it. Sometimes, it is not really easy to get through it and sometimes people have to step back. A similar thing happened with a model turned actress. She went through a lot of tough times soon after she won a prestigious title. We are talking about an actress who won the Miss World crown but she did not get to work much. Initially, she was all surrounded with fame and success but it was short-lived.
Meet the actress who became the fourth Indian woman to win Miss World
We are talking about Miss World 1999, Yukta Mookhey. She is from Bengaluru but has spent s brief period in Dubai. In 1986, her family shifted to Mumbai and Yukta completed her schooling here. She did Zoology in college and even earned a diploma degree in computer science. She also learnt classical music for three years.
In 1999, she decided to start her career in the entertainment industry. She entered the Femina Miss India contest, where she was shortlisted as a contestant. She was crowned Miss India 1999 and her life changed completely. The year turned out to be the best one for her. She became the fourth Indian woman to win the prestigious Miss World title. After after Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), and Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey brought the crown back in India.
She also won the Asia and Oceania’s Queen Of Beauty Award that time. However, once again her life took a drastic turn. In 2008, she got engaged to Prince Tuli. He is a New York-based businessman and financial consultant in Mumbai. They also got married soon and they have a son as well.

But in 2013, Yukta accused her husband and in-laws of domestic violence and harassment. She filed a police complaint and a lot happened in her personal life. They finally got divorced in 2014. Yukta tried acting and made her Hindi film debut with Pyaasa in 2002 alongside Aftab Shivdasani. But the film turned out to be a failure. Later, she did regional films but failed again and was forced to take up C-Grade movies.
The actress was recently seen in Good Newwz which released in 2019. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in lead roles.
