Police claim a Wisconsin man charged with murdering his girlfriend allegedly told investigators she had asked him to shoot her in the forehead, Us Weekly has learned.

Lance Devon White, 29, was charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide for killing Alicia Machnik, also 29, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Us Weekly.

White allegedly shot Machnik inside a Milwaukee motel room. The probable cause affidavit detailed how police were summoned to the hotel just before 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, about a dead body. FMS personnel were still dispatched to the scene and found Machnik dead in bed.

As he spoke with cops, White allegedly explained that the shooting was Machnik’s idea. He told investigators she asked him to shoot her in the exact spot where she’d had his name tattooed on her forehead, it is alleged in the affidavit.

Police noted the victim has a single gunshot wound to her upper right forehead with an exit wound in the back of her head

Officers recovered White’s state identification card, birth certificate, debit card, and social security card from the room after his arrest.

One of the motel’s employees told police he had been called to the room earlier that day, and spoke with Machnik, who said she would be staying an additional night.

The same employee returned to the room later at around 2:38 p.m. and got no response when he knocked on the door. The worker used a key to enter the room and found Machnik dead and bleeding from the head, the affidavit reads.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed White leaving the motel room at 11:28 a.m., three hours before Machnik’s body was found. The footage also showed no one else entered or left the room after White’s departure.

Machnik’s mother allegedly told police that her daughter and White had been married a year earlier and that Machnik had “spiraled out of control ever since.”

Cops spoke to a man who claimed to be Machnik’s on-and-off boyfriend since 2020, and he said he often sent her money because she regularly stayed in motels. The man also said he had access to Machnik’s Uber account, which showed someone used her account to travel to another motel nearby. The app showed that the passenger got into the rideshare car about an hour after Machnik was killed.

The affidavit alleges White told police he started dating Machnik a year earlier, and that they lived out of motels. In addition to admitting he shot her, White said he and Machnik had been using drugs together.

“The defendant stated Machnik told him that her child’s father was getting out of prison in eleven months and was going to kill them,” it is alleged in the affidavit. “The defendant stated Machnik told him to shoot her at the spot his name is tattooed on her face. The defendant stated that he shot her in the head once and then fled the room in shock. The defendant stated that after he left the room, he discarded the gun in a sewer near some apartment buildings.”
