Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has revealed a surprising new look.

The 72-year-old, who rose to fame playing Irene Roberts on the long-running soap, had fans doing a double take when she unveiled her latest selfie on Instagram. 

In the image, the TV veteran was all smiles as she showed off her new platinum locks alongside a heartfelt message for her fans. 

‘Wishing all my lovely friends a wonderful 2026!’ she wrote in the caption, before reflecting on 2025. 

‘Wow! What a year! So many highlights, so many lovely humans along the way. 

‘So many pinch–me moments, so much joy and love in my life. Forever grateful, never taking a single moment for granted,’ she continued.

‘May 2026 bring you all peace and joy and wisdom and love and just a smidge of excitement and adventure!! With endless love and thanks.’

It wasn’t long before fans inundated Lynne’s post with well-wishes and compliments.

‘Love the hair – wow – you look stunning (as always) xx,’ wrote one fan.

‘You look gorgeous,’ added another. 

Lynne announced she was leaving Home and Away in March 2025.

‘It’s kind of been in my head for a few years, where I thought, “I’ve still got my health, my fitness”, and I would like to branch out again and do some more theatre, maybe a bit of radio, a bit of stand up comedy,’ she told The Daily Telegraph. 

‘You either leave voluntarily or leave in a box by the time you’re my age,’ she joked.

‘I’m not going to live forever, particularly if I keep doing 14-hour days,’ she continued. 

Lynne won the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality in 2025

‘You get a bit tired, you need your sleep, if you have a bad night’s sleep you will pay the price the next day. My body isn’t as resilient as it once was.’

During her time on the show, Lynne worked with Hollywood superstars Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth.

She also shared screen time with other well-known names who got their start on the show as young performers, including Samara Weaving, Tammin Sursok, Ryan Kwanten and Isla Fisher.
