The dynamic Hollywood duo is back at it again. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in Home, the latest project from legendary director Martin Scorsese. The Oscar-winning filmmaker will write, direct, and produce the feature for Apple Original Films, with multi-Academy Award nominee Todd Field also on board as a producer.
The film is based on Home, the second book in Marilynne Robinson’s critically acclaimed Gilead series, which explores faith, redemption, and the struggles of small-town America. While details of the wider adaptation remain under wraps, this collaboration is already causing quite the buzz.
Scorsese – known for his gripping takes on faith and morality – will tackle Robinson’s story, which Publishers Weekly once described as “an elegant variation on the parable of the prodigal son’s return.”
Apple’s latest literary adaptation is no small feat. Robinson, a literary heavyweight, has penned five novels and six works of nonfiction, earning accolades such as the National Humanities Medal, the PEN/Hemingway Award, and a spot on Time Magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People.
The deal pairs two of Hollywood’s most legendary icons.
Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions, DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions, and LBI Entertainment will be behind the project. With this powerhouse team in place, Home is shaping up to be a must-watch for film lovers and avid readers alike.
