Laura Byrne kicked off her 40s with a bang last weekend when she threw a wild backyard birthday party that infuriated her North Bondi neighbours.

The soirée saw the former Bachelor star’s loved ones let loose with a raucous celebration that carried on well into the night before they were attacked with eggs.

Sharing details of the shocking moment to her Life Uncut podcast, the mother-of-three said her noisy party came to a grinding halt at midnight.

She said the event ‘screamed millennial mums gone wild’ as she admitted: ‘I feel so sorry for my neighbours. It was midnight. I lost track of time.

‘I did not know it was midnight. And all of a sudden I hear, “I’ve been hit!” Our neighbours started throwing eggs at us.’

Laura’s co-host Brittany Hockley was left reeling in shock as she said: ‘You got egged? At your 40th?’

‘My 40th birthday party ended with us being egged in the backyard… Like a carton of eggs,’ Laura said, finding the humour in the confrontation.

‘This makes me sound old. That’s really dangerous. From a high trajectory, that could be really painful,’ Brittany said.

‘I woke up the next day and I was like, full respect to my neighbour for not calling the cops,’ Laura added.

It certainly seems like the former reality TV star had a blast, if the images and videos shared to her Instagram account last week are anything to go by.

The evening began with Laura posing for photos with her husband Matty ‘J’ Johnson and their three daughters – Marlie-Mae, seven, Lola, five, and Poppy, seven months.

Laura was all smiles in a red dress as she cuddled with her family outside their North Bondi home.

They hosted an intimate gathering in their backyard, serving hors d’oeuvres made by Chef Gianni Carrieri as guests were serenaded by Bondi singer Louis Sam Green.

At one point, one of Laura’s young daughters also got onto the mic to belt out some tunes.

Should neighbours put up with noisy parties or are late-night revenge tactics justifiable?

Guests included Laura’s sister and business partner Alisha de Graaf, Life Uncut executive producer Keeshia Pettit, producer Lachlan Pugsley, and co-host Brittany.

Mitch Churi, who once worked with Laura and Brittany on their afternoon KIIS FM radio show The Pick Up, was also in attendance.

Other guests included Hamish Blake’s personal assistant Falcon Montecristo and stylist Lucia Arias Martinez.

As night fell, guests gathered around to sing happy birthday to Laura as she was presented with what looked to be a pavlova cake with a sparkler on top.

Then things got wild as the kids were whisked away by a babysitter and Laura let her hair down with her friends.

Those who remained partied well into the night, belting out songs as a smoke machine set the mood.
