For Kim Kardashian, 2025 was filled with major highs and devastating lows.

Although the reality TV legend landed a starring role in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama, All’s Fair, which has been renewed for a second season, she also faced several setbacks in both her professional endeavors and personal life.

Between failing the California bar exam, navigating co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West and testifying in a Paris court against the robbers who held her at gunpoint nearly a decade earlier, an inside source told the Daily Mail that Kardashian, 45, feels ‘defeated’ and ‘exhausted’ after what she believes is ‘the worst’ year yet.

‘Kim cannot wait for the new year, because this has been one of her worst, if not the worst. It has been so trying that she does not know what she will do if 2026 is worse,’ the insider exclusively told the Daily Mail.

‘Failing the bar was a major slap in the face and a massive blow to her ego,’ they said.

‘Being a mom is tough. She loves her kids, but along with the rest of her life being so busy, it has been a struggle while dealing with everything else in her personal life. It’s tough co-parenting with Kanye.’

Indeed, Kardashian recently celebrated the Christmas holiday with the four children she shares with her ex-husband: North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six. The pair were married for nearly seven years.

However, the rapper, 48, was noticeably absent from family holiday photos, which were taken before the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s annual Christmas Eve bash.

Instead, West – who legally changed his name to Ye – was spotted that same evening with his wife, Bianca Censori, in Los Angeles.

The photos were just a glimpse at what Kardashian has previously described as a ‘frustrating’ co-parenting relationship.

In October, Kardashian revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she did not feel ‘safe emotionally or even financially’ in her ‘toxic’ marriage to West, and recalled how her own mental health began to suffer.

Since their split, West has accused Kardashian of keeping him from their children, even posting on X that she had ‘kidnapped’ their two sons and two daughters.

She clarified on the podcast that, ‘I raise the kids full time. They live with me and I welcome a great healthy relationship with my kids and their dad, and I think he knows that.’

Kardashian said at the time that it had been ‘a couple months’ since the family had heard from West.

‘It’s not easy, no matter what, co-parenting with anyone – it’s just the one thing that gets me is that there’s this narrative that I keep the kids away from him. I’ve never once done that,’ she said.

While the Skims founder has been romantically linked to a slew of famous faces since their divorce – including Pete Davidson, Odell Beckham Jr and Tom Brady – the source told the Daily Mail that Kardashian ‘doesn’t know if she will ever have time to have another serious relationship in her life.’

‘She would love to find love again, but what this year has shown her is that you can’t have it all,’ the insider said.

They continued, adding that ‘She’s not getting any younger and is stuck in her ways, and to find someone that would meet her in the middle and be an important man in her life to her and her kids might just be impossible.’

The source added that Kardashian ‘buries herself in work’ to avoid the woes of her love life.

Such work includes her dream to become a lawyer, which has been a six-year journey for Kardashian.

But in November, Kardashian revealed in an emotional video that she did not pass the California bar exam after studying for four months straight and injuring her back due to stress.

Coincidentally, Kardashian learned she had failed on the same day that her legal drama series, All’s Fair, premiered on Hulu.

The show, which also starred Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash and Teyana Taylor, was branded by critics as ‘the worst drama ever’ and ‘a crime against television’ upon its debut.

According to the insider, Kardashian had big dreams that her performance as Allura Grant, a high-powered divorce lawyer, might even land her an Emmy Award nomination.

But the reaction from critics, they said, just added to her supposed year from hell.

‘She was excited for her role in All’s Fair, and she is looking forward to filming Season 2, but the reaction it got from critics and viewers was another blow,’ they said.

‘She put in a lot of work, and for it to be panned upset her to no end. She had hoped it might get her an Emmy nomination.’

Kardashian’s year took an emotional turn back in May, when she returned to France to ‘confront’ her attackers in a Paris courtroom – almost nine years after she was robbed of an estimated $10million-worth of jewelry in her hotel room.

During court testimony, Kardashian said she had feared for her life as the robbers tied her up and held her at gunpoint.

She also told the court that she forgave the accused ringleader, but said ‘it doesn’t change the emotion and the feelings, the trauma, and my life being changed forever.’

Eight people were later found guilty of crimes in connection to the 2016 robbery.

The source told the Daily Mail that ‘returning to Paris for the trial was the hardest moment for [Kardashian] this year.’

‘Everything before and after just added to it. The only saving grace was that she doesn’t have to go back to that – that chapter is over.’

Still, the insider maintained that Kardashian’s tight-knit family has continued to support the reality TV star amid her rollercoaster year.

Her devoted mother, Kris Jenner, appeared by her side at the Paris courtroom in May. Kardashian has also showcased her close relationship with her younger sister Khloé on Season 7 of Hulu’s The Kardashians.

‘Kim has gone through a bunch of stuff this year and her family has mentioned to her that she should feel uplifted – that all these tests are in God’s plan and that she will be better off. But it’s hard for her to believe that,’ the source added.

‘She feels defeated. Nobody is feeling her pain from this year. She’s exhausted.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Kardashian’s representatives for comment, but has not heard back.
