Katy Perry’s latest crowd-surfing attempt went terribly wrong.

The pop star was temporarily stranded inside a giant inflatable water bottle carried by thousands of fans in the audience during her headlining performance at Isle of MTV Malta on Wednesday.

While singing “I Kissed a Girl,” Perry entered the inflatable as it passed through the crowd. The stunt quickly turned into chaos, however, as fans moved her toward the back of the crowd — instead of the intended direction of a giant straw, which was positioned near the stage.

“Get me to that straw,” Perry yelled to the crowd as she pointed toward the stage installation, as seen in a fan video circulating on social media from the show.

Footage showed her attempting to redirect fans with her hands, but the bottle continued to drift away while she remained enclosed inside it.

“Come on, keep it going!” the singer pleaded. “Go back to the stage! Oh my God!”

Thankfully, Perry was eventually moved back toward the stage and continued the concert.

“Thank you for getting me back,” she told fans as she wrapped up the song.

The Grammy nominee is no stranger to concert mishaps.

During her “Lifetimes” tour last summer, the musician nearly fell off a flying prop at one of her concerts.

The superstar was performing her hit “Roar” as she flew above the crowd in San Francisco on a giant butterfly machine. Unfortunately, the technical prop suddenly malfunctioned.

In video footage of the mishap, the crowd could be heard reacting in shock and fear, as screams grew louder. Perry also seemed to be terrified, as she had a panicked look on her face.

Perry quickly recovered from the scare and even trolled the incident on social media after the show.

The “Teenage Dream” songstress later showed off her brutal injuries from the seven-month-long tour.

In August 2025, the 41-year-old uploaded bloody, scraped knees she sustained from her in-depth choreography.

“It was a slide on my knees mome[nt] that usually makes them go ahhh and it just made me go arghh,” she quipped.
