Joe Jonas is getting candid about his lackluster audition for an undisclosed role in “The Morning Show.”

“Long story short, I show up early [and] they’re like, ‘Oh.’ And they did this thing — which was very kind … they were like, ‘Oh, we have a private room for you,’” he told brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas during Wednesday’s episode of the “Hey Jonas!” podcast.

Joe, 36, then shared that he was in the “saddest room you can imagine” where he could hear other hopeful actors auditioning as “clear as day,” adding that “these guys were crushing it.”

“And I go in and I just, like, crash and burn,” he lamented. “It was literally, like, I don’t even know what I’m auditioning for.”

Joe revealed that his “bad audition” was for the role of a “young anchor” who was meant to be a potential love interest for Jennifer Aniston.

Prior to disclosing that Joe had auditioned for “The Morning Show,” Nick took a few guesses at which lost role he was referring to, including “Spider-Man” and “Wicked.”

“We don’t need to name all the things I didn’t get,” Joe hilariously responded, with Kevin chiming in, “Those are two of them.”

Nick, 33, subsequently reassured his older brother that “bad auditions happen” and questioned whether Joe considered his bid for a role in “The Morning Show” his “worst audition.”

“I think also ‘Wicked’ was a bit of a strange one,” he replied, “because there was, like, incredible theater vocalists I could hear clear as day.”

In an Instagram clip from the podcast interview, fans reacted to Joe’s confession. “We need Joe in a romcom,” one person suggested, while another wrote, “Wait, @joejonas auditioned for Wicked and DIDNT get any part?! Blasphemy… he’d be great in Wicked!”

Others were more interested in Joe’s purported list of failed auditions. “Actually, I DO need to hear all the things Joe didn’t get,” one person remarked, while another chimed in, “Nick is my inner voice reminding of my failures.”

Yet another noted, “Naming all the things he didn’t get is peak little brother behaviour 😂.”

While Joe didn’t nab a role in “The Morning Show,” the Disney Channel alum has has his fair share of onscreen victories.

He famously co-starred with his brothers in the “Camp Rock” movies and 2025’s “A Very Jonas Christmas,” and made a pointed cameo in 2016’s “Zoolander 2.”
