Japanese influencer Zepa has died. She was 26.

“Zepa has passed away unexpectedly,” read a statement from her X account shared on Sunday.

“I apologize for this sudden report. On behalf of the deceased, I deeply apologize for the abrupt news of their passing,” the statement continued.

Zepa’s funeral was “held privately with only family members in attendance,” the message said.

“We sincerely thank you for the kindness and support extended to the deceased during their lifetime,” the statement concluded.

Zepa had over 1.4 million followers combined on X, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Her biggest following was on YouTube, with over 625,000 subscribers.

The late influencer was open about her issues with alcohol.

In a post on X shared a few days before her death, Zepa implied that she had “alcohol dependency.”

“It seems that the average lifespan for alcohol dependency is around 50 years old… Have I already passed the halfway mark…?” she wrote.

On March 15, Zepa tweeted, “Where are my strengths, anyway… My cheerful side? Nah, I get alcohol depression sometimes too, though, lol.”

In another tweet, she claimed she was “regretting having drunk too much the previous day.”

Two months earlier, Zepa told her X followers that she was “worried about [her]self.”

On New Year’s Day, she said she “got so drunk yesterday that I have no memory of doing the countdown jump lololol.”

And in December, Zepa tweeted, “I don’t have alcohol-free days, or rather, if I don’t drink before bed at night, it doesn’t feel like the day’s over, and once it gets dark outside, my liver starts acting up somehow.

“Even though I was drinking like crazy until 7 a.m. this morning, I’ve bounced back and now I’m having a Strong Zero,” she added.
