Hong Ling and Nick Teo are expecting their first child, and their family of five is set to become six.
The celebrity couple shared the good news in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Sept 22), writing: “Zhaocai, Jinbao, Eve… Turns out, we were still missing one. Our family is finally growing by one little member. A gift from God, more beautiful than we could have imagined. Baby Teo coming soon.”
In the video clip, Hong Ling and Nick are seen seated side by side as Nick says, “Today, we are officially introducing our family members.”
The couple take turns introducing their three pets before revealing an ultrasound scan printout and announcing that a baby will be joining their family soon.
In another clip filmed a few months ago, Hong Ling and Nick are seen waiting for the pregnancy test kit’s results while they were at the airport. When the words “Pregnant, one to two weeks” appear on the screen, the overjoyed couple hug each other tightly.
Nick admitted that he was “scared to death” and “so kanchiong” (anxious) as he waited outside the toilet.
The good news comes a year after Hong Ling suffered a miscarriage last February.
About 11 weeks pregnant then, the actress noticed that she was bleeding. When she visited a doctor, she was told that the foetus had no heartbeat.
Hong Ling, who married Nick in December 2023, said that the two of them had struggled for a period of time before deciding to reveal the miscarriage.
People around them, who were unaware of their situation, had asked when they were planning to have children.
