Following the tragic news of Michelle Trachtenberg’s death, a haunting video of her talking about battling bullies has resurfaced online.

The actress died at the age of 39 at her home in New York City on Wednesday.

She was a child actress before going on to rise to fame in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harriet the Spy and Gossip Girl.

‘I had a really, really terrible time in school,’ she admitted in a resurfaced video from a 2010 Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf interview.

At the time, she was just 24 when she recalled how she was set to begin college but opted out partially due to her difficult experience with school in the past.

During the chat, she said when she was younger, her former classmates would bully her.

She called them ‘terrible, tortuous and evil’ when the interviewer asked if they were ‘jealous [she was] on TV.’

Trachtenberg said that her bullies ‘made fun of me and tortured me.’

A decade later, she opened up about that painful part of her childhood again and revealed how her bullies gave her ‘scars.’

In a Valentine’s Day social media post in 2020, she recalled how her classmates would send cards to everyone but her.

‘The kids were cruel,’ she continued. ‘There is no need to harp on the past. But I still have scars from being thrown down stairs and slammed into lockers head first.’

She penned a lengthy caption explaining why she still had negative memories associated with the holiday.

‘Back in my day, all the kids had to write a bull*** Valentine’s Day card to everyone in class. I never got one on purpose,’ she wrote. ‘Everyone got a Valentine card.’

She continued: ‘No one ever gave me one and they thought I didn’t need the attention. The kids and staff all laughed and thought everyone else should get one.

‘Being an actress since I was 3, apparently I didn’t need one,’ she continued. ‘No one gave a thought [about how] I was helping my family pay bills. I was just the girl on the TV. It was just that their kid wasn’t on TV.’

Trachtenberg said it was ‘challenging’ for her to post about her childhood since former classmates would still occasionally reach out to her.

Even though her acting career was taking off, she said she was bullied relentlessly in school.

Then, she voiced her support for other people who may be facing bullying too.

And despite the painful history, she acknowledged three teachers who helped her during the difficult time.

She said one teacher would ‘let me eat lunch in her classroom so the kids wouldn’t throw out my food or throw their food at me.’

She said another teacher ignited her love for learning and reading while another challenged her as a writer.

Trachtenberg was found dead Wednesday, February 26, in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle just after 8 a.m. local time by her mother, police sources told ABC News.
