Hollywood actress Michelle Trachtenberg – who was best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl and other key project – passed away at 39. In Gossip Girl, she played the role of Georgina Sparks. Even though her character was that of mean and vengeful girl, she received massive appreciation for her acting chops. She made the character iconic and memorable. As the reports of her demise made headlines, her Gossip Girl co-stars penned emotional tributes on social media.
Blake Lively, who played the role of Serena Van der Woodsen, wrote a lengthy note remembering Michelle Trahtenberg and the energy she brought to sets. Blake called Michelle ‘electricity’ and mentioned that people would know when she has entered the room as the the vibrations would change. She praised her for giving her 200 percent to everything she did. Blake also mentioned that Michelle cared deeply about her work. “She was a kind person through and through. Time, and you take for granted the chance to reconnect with an old friend. To paraphrase, the real tragedies in life are the ones that blindside you on an idle Tuesday. Hold those you love and have loved dear. The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle. May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire,” she added. Further, she wrote that the world lost a deeply sensitive and good person.
Ed Westwick, who played the role of Chuck Bass, remembered Michelle as a ‘talented, sharp, funny and warm soul’. He sent in his prayers for the family to sail through the tough time.
Actor Chace Crawford who became famous as Nate Archibald called Michelle ‘one of a kind’. He mentioned that she was a force of nature and unapologetically funny. He called it a terrible loss.
Taylor Momsen, who played Jenny Humfrey in Gossip Girl, also shared a picture of Michelle and called her ‘One of a kind’. Kelly Rutherford aka Lily Van der Woodsen shared a picture of the late actress with white hearts.
The cause of Michelle’s demise is still kept under wraps. Reportedly, she was found unresponsive on the kitchen floor of her luxury home in Manhattan.
