Michael Bolton shared a rare family photo following his shock brain tumor diagnosis.
The Grammy-winning singer celebrated his 72nd birthday on Wednesday and marked the special occasion with a photo of his children and grandchildren.
He took to Facebook to share the snapshot of him with his family as they sat at their dining table in a room full of festive decorations.
‘Spending my birthday filled with love and gratitude,’ he wrote in his caption alongside the picture. ‘Wishing you all the same, today & everyday!’
His birthday celebration comes just weeks after he canceled his upcoming London concert as he continues to recover from brain surgery amid his cancer battle.
The hitmaker looked frail in a polo shirt and tucked a pair of black-framed glasses into the collar of his top. He had a sweet smile on his face as his family circled around him.

With hope and optimism, Bolton added: ‘Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.’
At the time, the musician said that he ‘will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery’ and will ‘take a temporary break from touring.’
‘It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.’
Earlier this month, he canceled his performance in London, which was originally scheduled for the summer.
He explained that the cancellation was due to his recovery from emergency surgery for a brain tumor.
‘You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery,’ he announced on his Instagram Story earlier this month.
‘Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world.’
