Fall TV Preview 2026: All the Must-Watch New and Returning Shows, From ‘Tracker’ to ‘DWTS’

The fall TV schedule is overflowing with highly anticipated premieres and returns including Tracker, Dancing With the Stars, Line of Fire and more.

‘A Tale of Two Cities’ (MGM+)

Kit Harington and François Civil star in a four-part adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic about the French Revolution. The two men — physically alike, spiritually so different — end up irrevocably tied when they fall for the same woman (Mirren Mack). (September. 6)

‘R.J. Decker’ (ABC)

Season 2 is starting off strong with a surprise Dancing With the Stars crossover. (September 15)

‘The Creep Tapes’ (Shudder and AMC+)

Season 3 of the horror show continues to expose a collection of video tapes from the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer (played by Mark Duplass). (September 15)

‘Dancing With the Stars’ (ABC)

On night one of the season 35 premiere, the male celebrities will hit the ballroom floor, each performing to a No. 1 song from the year they were born. The women will make their debuts the following night with the same theme. One couple will be sent home during each of the two episodes. (September 15)

‘Route 187’ (Paramount+)

The four-part miniseries — executive produced by Tyler Perry — is set along a deadly city-bus route known by the numerical police code for homicide. Following an attack in the fictional city of South Winslow, a journalist uncovers a hidden serial killer. (September 16)

‘The Traitors: New Blood’ (Peacock)

Same castle, new twist. Host Alan Cumming is back for Peacock’s usually celeb-studded hit. This time, everyday Americans will try to identify the Traitors among the Faithful to secure the grand prize. (September 17)

‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’ (Netflix)

The latest Monster installment centers on the woman (Ella Beatty) accused of giving her folks 40 whacks in the late 19th century. This is a Ryan Murphy joint, so expect things to get… wacky. (Case in point: Sarah Paulson stars as Aileen Wuornos.). (September 17)

‘Line of Fire’ (NBC)

Good news for anyone missing Peter Krause after his controversial 9-1-1 death (or Hope Davis after season 1 of Furious): They’re both back in this action thriller about a family of law enforcement agents up against a conspiracy. (September 21)

‘Celebrity Name That Tune’ (Fox)

Jane Krakowski is back as the host of the hit Fox game show and Robin Thicke is joining as bandleader, replacing Randy Jackson. (September 21)

‘Celebrity Weakest Link’ (Fox)

Celebrity Weakest Link brings together eight celebrities who will compete to win up to $1 million for a charity of their choosing. (September 21)

‘Best Medicine’ (Fox)

Season 2 picks up five months after the season 1 finale as Martin settles in at Port Wenn. (September 22)

‘Doc’ (Fox)

Blair Underwood joins the cast of Doc — and is part of an intriguing new love triangle. (September 22)

‘Brothers’ (Apple TV)

True Detective costars and real-life soulmates Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson play fictionalized versions of themselves in a comedy that asks: What if these dudes were actually brothers? Expect high jinks, A-list cameos and super-chill vibes. (September 23)

‘Survivor’ (CBS)

Castaways marooned in remote Fiji embark upon the Open Era of Survivor and battle to win $1 million. (September 23)

‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ (Fox)

A new group of celeb recruits suffer through harsh, military-style training based on actual Special Forces selection processes. They face intense physical and mental challenges designed to push their limits. (September 24)

‘A Different World’ (Netflix)

A new generation arrives at Hillman College alongside returning favorites. (September 24)

‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’ (Starz)

Shemar Moore returns alongside newcomers Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares and Ronen Rubinstein in the next chapter of S.W.A.T. (September 25)

‘Scrubs’ (ABC)

J.D., Turk and Elliot have leveled up from interns to icons at Sacred Heart. Now, the respected doctors are inspiring the next generation while balancing the ups and downs of working in a hospital. (September 30)

‘The Amazing Race’ (CBS)

Host Phil Keoghan surprises racers with the first twist of the season: For the first time in the show’s history, there are 13 Express Passes in play in part one of the 39th season premiere. (September 30)

‘East of Eden’ (Netflix)

Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott lead this big-budget seven-part Netflix adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic. Come for the turn-of-the- century costumes, stay for the weighty questions about family and fate. (October 1)

‘Marshals’ (CBS)

Luke Grimes returns as Kayce, who is hell-bent on rescuing his son Tate after a surprise abduction. (October 4)

From Michael Weatherly’s return to NCIS and Mark Harmon’s season-long arc on NCIS: Origins to the debut of NCIS: New York, Tuesday nights will be booked and busy on CBS. (October 6)

‘Carrie’ (Prime Video)

Horror pros Stephen King and Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) team up for a new adaptation of King’s 1974 novel. Summer H. Howell is the alienated teen who uses telekinesis to exact revenge on her bullies, with frequent Flanagan collaborator Samantha Sloyan as her domineering mom. (October 7)

‘One Chicago’ (NBC)

Chicago Med, Fire and P.D. are all back and better than ever. (October 7)

‘Law and Order’ Night (NBC)

Thursday nights are returning with both Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order. (October 8)

‘Cupertino’ (CBS)

Cupertino stars Mike Colter and Rachel Keller as lawyers Michael Price and Olivia Siffre, who are wrongfully terminated from a tech startup. Michael and Olivia join forces to form their own law firm to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite and fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths of Silicon Valley. ‘Elsbeth’ (CBS)

Viewers are guaranteed more star-studded guest appearances and fun cases when Elsbeth comes back. (October 8)

‘Eternally Yours’ (CBS)

Love is patient — very, very patient. On this CBS comedy, vampires Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards) navigate a passionless marriage 500 years in, while their daughter (Helen J. Shen) tries dating a human (Jaren Lewison). Disaster ensues. (October 8)

‘Boston Blue’ (CBS)

Season 2 of the Blue Bloods spinoff picks up after a time jump with some surprise changes. The biggest reveal though comes after the season 1 finale hinted at a possible major date. (October 9)

‘Sheriff Country’ (CBS)

The Fire Country spinoff is returning on a high with Ben McKenzie making his Sheriff Country debut in a surprise role. (October 9)

‘Crystal Lake’ (Peacock)

Linda Cardellini on TV is always a reason to celebrate. A prequel to Friday the 13th, this horror series follows a young Jason Voorhees (Callum Vinson), with Cardellini as his mother — iconic blue sweater and all. (October 15)

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ (ABC)

Viewers will be welcomed back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital after numerous surprise cast exits. (October 15)

‘9-1-1’ Night (ABC)

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville promises more out-of-the-box emergencies and new additions such as Ryan Phillippe. (October 15)

‘Nobody Wants This’ (Netflix)

Season 3 follows Noah and Joanne as they prepare to move in together. (October 22)

‘Happy’s Place’ (NBC)
