Attention Easties! You will soon be able to enjoy Elijah Pies’ iconic bakes without the long commute.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Sept 8), the 12-year-old brand announced that it will be opening Elijah Pies in Joo Chiat on Saturday.
“Lights on, secret’s out. So many of you guessed it right — we will be lighting up the Joo Chiat neighbourhood from this Saturday, 10am-10pm,” the caption read.
Elijah Pies also teased the new space in a post two days before the official announcement, showcasing its minimalist interior.
The new 60-seater eatery is located in a restored 1930s Peranakan shophouse and includes a private dining room as well as a pet-friendly outdoor area.
It will also serve dishes which are not found at its other locations.
New menu items include Elijah’s Souffle Pie ($10) — a made-to-order chocolate souffle pie — and a new Pizza Pie series that’s inspired by Chicago deep-dish pizzas.
Some flavours of pizza pies at the new outlet are garlic ebi ($22), truffle croque ($24) and cheeseburger ($23).
This will be the brand’s third outlet in addition to its cafe in Tanjong Pagar and baking studio in Lavender, and is its flagship.
Elijah Pies, which began as a home-based business by married couple Elijah Tan and Limin Wong, gained popularity on Instagram for its aesthetic and tasty pies.
In an interview with CNA Lifestyle, Elijah and Limin said that they hoped to accommodate larger families in the new cafe, and the Joo Chiat unit allows for a massive 10-seater dining table equipped with a lazy Susan.
Limin also said that they will also be serving free babyccinos and housemade cheese crisps for young children.
The married couple wanted the space to be welcoming for pets as well.
Upon noticing that many owners walk their dogs in the area, they designed a pet service corner outside the cafe where they can grab water for their pets.
Customers’ dogs can also enjoy a free dog cookie when they visit the outlet.
