Nicola Peltz’s whole family stormed out of her wedding during Victoria Beckham’s ‘inappropriate’ dance with son Brooklyn, DJ Fat Tony has told the Daily Mail.
Nicola, 31, was left devastated by the three minute dance to a love song performed on stage by latin artist Marc Anthony – and left the room in tears.
Her family went after Nicola and Brooklyn looked humiliated and also went to find his new wife after the ‘awkward’ dance took place, says Fat Tony who performed at the wedding.
Following his appearance on ITV’s This Morning, the DJ revealed even more details from the dramatic reception in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, including how at one point Brooklyn’s hands were on his mother’s waist while her arms were placed around his neck.
‘The timing was inappropriate for me. It was meant to be a bride and groom’s moment,’ he told us.
‘It was in the heat of the moment.

‘Brooklyn left right after the dance. Nicola left the room and afterwards he went after her.
‘Nicola’s family left, they went after their daughter.
‘Marc Anthony is a latin singer. It was a love song.’
When asked if Brooklyn had his hands on Victoria’s hips, he said: ‘Well, yeah. It was slow dancing, it wasn’t like some samba number. Victoria had her arms around his neck.’
He went on: ‘Brooklyn is a friend of mine. The whole situation is just awful, the way it’s played out so publicly.
‘Families are families, I don’t know what started it. At one point someone might say something publicly.’
He continued: ‘Brooklyn is upset about a lot of things, sometimes the smallest of things can become bigger the biggest of things, because it highlights it.
‘I’m not speaking bad about either party in it, I’m just putting the narrative straight about the dance.
Brooklyn claimed that he had ‘never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life’, after Victoria’s dancing (pictured on the day of the wedding)
‘Families don’t get on sometimes. It’s not the Waltons, it’s the Beckhams. I’m sure they don’t all go to bed at night and say good night and switch the lights off like the Waltons do.
‘There are problems with every family, this one just happened to be played out publicly
‘I’ve talked about it because someone needs to speak about it, and here is what it is. I didn’t make it about me, Brooklyn or the Beckhams, it was just about the situation.
‘Although people have laughed at the memes and they have been incredible, there are still two people here that are in pain. We have to remember that.
‘Everyone needs to let it die down now.’
Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Brooklyn and Nicola for comment.
Fat Tony’s comments come after he confirmed the exact nature of Victoria’s ‘inappropriate’ dance with son Brooklyn on Friday’s This Morning.
The 60-year-old branded the incident ‘really awkward’ and confirmed that Nicola fled the reception in tears.
Brooklyn, 26, stated in an explosive six-page statement on Monday that Victoria had ‘hijacked’ his first dance with his wife and ‘danced very inappropriately on me’, leaving him ‘uncomfortable and humiliated’.
Tony, a longtime friend of the Beckhams, claimed that Marc Anthony was to blame, revealing the musician had called Victoria to the dance floor with her son and instructed him, ‘place your hands on your mother’s hips’.
Speaking on Friday’s episode of ITV’s This Morning, Tony shared: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!
‘The word “inappropriate”, why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened.’
DJ Fat Tony has finally confirmed the exact nature of Victoria Beckham’s ‘inappropriate’ dance with son Brooklyn as he appeared on Friday’s episode of This Morning
Tony continued: ‘What happened was, basically, Marc Anthony was performing on stage, he then called Brooklyn onto stage.
‘Brooklyn went on to the stage, and the next minute everyone’s expecting Nicola to go up and do the first dance, and then Marc asked for the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage – and then he says “Victoria, come to the stage”.’
He revealed that Brooklyn looked ‘devastated’ at the fact his first dance was with Victoria and not his wife, adding that Nicola left the room ‘crying her eyes out’.
Tony went on: ‘Brooklyn is stuck there on stage, and they do this dance, and Marc Anthony says “put your hands on your mother’s hips” and it was a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room…
‘I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they are a very dancing close-knit family and love to dance, right? So you know, what we deem as “inappropriate” is not how Brooklyn feels.
‘This is all about how Brooklyn feels. If he feels that it was inappropriate and awkward, it was inappropriate and awkward.
‘What’s sad is that this is the bit that everyone’s taken from the statement, and kind of whitewashed everything else that went on.’
Detailing Brooklyn’s motives for going public with his statement, Tony continued: ‘It’s taken a lot for someone to go to social media, when your life is lived out on social media… he wanted to change the narrative.
‘For all of his life, he’s been called [a] nepo baby, and “he should be grateful that he’s got the family name”. But that’s what he was born into, y’know. I think what we’re all missing here is the fact that parents have lost their child and a son has lost his parents.’
Tony said: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!’ (Victoria and Brooklyn dancing on another occasion)

Despite the eyes of the globe being on the controversial couple amid the family drama, on Thursday they enjoyed a carefree walk with their dog in Malibu
When asked if he couldn’t counsel him to ‘go and live his life’ and not blow this up, Tony said: ‘The thing is, it’s drip-fed.
‘We live in a world where people make their own presumptions about everything and no, [there’s nothing you can do about that], you can’t, and the reason why I’ve come on This Morning is because it’s a safe space.
‘I’ve been inundated with “you’re a liar”, “you’re this, you’re that”, and I haven’t even commented – my poor husband was in an argument and made a brief comment saying, “You weren’t there, I was, it’s true.” Which then led onto [all those messages] it was ridiculous.’
On why he thought Brooklyn didn’t approach his parents privately, Tony replied, ‘He’s done all that. It got to the point for him where he can’t take this anymore and wanted to step back from it, and that was his way of doing closure.
‘That’s his decision. I couldn’t think of anything worse [for his parents] and I can only talk as a dog dad, but I didn’t talk to my own father for 30 years due my own understanding of a situation that I made up in my own head.
‘And it wasn’t until I reconciled with my father that I realised that I had to look at my part in it… so of course it’s really sad situation. Do I think they’ll talk again? Of course they will at some point, they are family. But the noise needs to die down, people need to step back from it.
‘I didn’t realise there were two and a half million people at that wedding, because everyone seems to think they were there! Everyone feels the need to comment on it. And I’m sure they will have a field day with this, but that’s the world we live in.’
Tony previously joined in the posts poking fun at Brooklyn’s claims that Victoria ‘danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone’, sharing a picture of Lucy Punch dancing in Motherland
The clip was captioned ‘POV: Victoria Beckham during Brooklyn’s first dance’ and Fat Tony added the words: ‘Actual video footage it’s true I was there !’
Asked about what people were saying the morning after the wedding, Tony admitted: ‘Well you know, when the bride and groom leave their wedding devastated, word trickles out… and not many people turned up for the brunch, but everyone was talking about it, and how sad that part of it was.
‘But Victoria was thrown into that situation, and I think too much has been read into it… in the sense of too many stories being added to it. The dance is a very small part of the bigger problem.’
At the end of the interview, host Alison Hammond said: ‘As a mother, the whole thing saddens me, and I would love to put it out there to Brooklyn and to Victoria, I would love to bring you all together and I would love to mediate. I’m here if they want to do that Tony.’
Tony had previously joined in with the posts poking fun at Brooklyn’s claims that Victoria ‘danced very inappropriately’.
Earlier in the week, he shared a video of Lucy Punch’s character, Amanda, in the BBC sitcom Motherland, dancing wildly to the Lil’ Kleine & Ronnie Flex track Drank & Drugs in front of her school mum friends.

Tony’s partner, Stavros Agapiou, also backed up Brooklyn’s ‘inappropriate’ dancing comment.
‘I was there and she did, he’s telling the truth,’ he said in an Instagram comment, which has since been deleted – with Stavros instead posting: ‘Good on him for finally speaking out!’

Brooklyn made a series of bombshell allegations about his 2022 Florida wedding, including claims his mother dramatically intervened in what was meant to be his romantic first dance with Nicola.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Brooklyn was so embarrassed and his wife so humiliated and furious to have been upstaged.
‘She made her feelings very, very clear on the day. It soured the whole evening.’
The insider added of Victoria: ‘There was absolutely no malice there; quite the opposite.’
Meanwhile, a different source said David and Victoria are ‘baffled’ by the accusations, as on the day, guests were ‘having so much fun’ and were ‘lapping it up’, with no concerns about the mother and son dance raised at the time.
They said Victoria was just a ‘tad tipsy and having fun’ while ‘Nicola didn’t want him to dance with his mum at all – so kicked off about it’.
Page Six reported the actress was so upset she left the reception crying after Victoria ‘wrapped her arms around Brooklyn and nuzzled into his neck’.
A source said: ‘She [Victoria] was dancing with him very inappropriately. She took that moment from Nicola, that is the god’s truth.
‘Nicola ran out crying. The Beckhams’ side of the room was cheering and the Peltz side was quiet.
‘Nicola’s friends were saying, “You have to go back down.” Her face was swollen. She finally came down and was sad the entire evening, it was so heartbreaking.’
Another source claimed Brooklyn spent the weekend ‘agonising’ over what to say in the six-page statement, after telling his wife ‘f*** it, this ends now’.
The insider told The Mirror: ‘He thought the abuse towards his wife would never stop until he said something in his own words. He was sick of the lies, and there was no changing his mind….and nor did anyone want to. He was fixated on ending the b******t which he claims his mum and dad are behind.’
Fans are clamouring to see the footage at the centre of the Beckham family rift.
But sources say the video will likely never surface because Brooklyn himself holds the only recording of the controversial moment.
The couple famously enforced an ultra-strict no-phones policy at their lavish Florida nuptials, attended by 500 guests.
All attendees were required to surrender their personal devices upon arrival, sealing them inside electronically locked pouches before being handed retro flip phones for basic photographs.
As a result, Brooklyn and Nicola retain exclusive control over all official footage from the day, meaning the alleged ’embarrassing’ dance exists only in material owned by the couple themselves.
A source revealed: ‘Brooklyn holds all the power when it comes to the video of Victoria dancing “inappropriately” on him at his wedding to Nicola.
‘You can completely understand why Brooklyn would never have wanted the footage made public. Until now, he has stayed silent, but he is finally speaking out about his experiences with his family and, in particular, how deeply let down he felt by his mother on his wedding day.
‘Thousands of people are now speculating about just how inappropriate Victoria’s performance really was, and releasing the footage could be the ultimate proof that everything Brooklyn has alleged is completely accurate.
‘The only person who can lawfully release that footage is Brooklyn himself. And while he’s clearly been pushed to breaking point, he may still feel it’s not something he wants to relive, especially on such a hugely public scale.’
As a result of Brooklyn’s claims, thousands of memes and hilarious videos imagining Victoria’s ‘inappropriate’ dancing have gone viral online. Sources told The Sun that she is ‘devastated’ at being turned into a laughing stock.
Glamorous images of the couple’s lavish nuptials were captured by celebrity fashion and wedding photographer German Larkin, later forming the centrepiece of their glossy Vogue cover shoot.
But it is within the couple’s own account of their big day that cracks in Brooklyn’s version of events which have begun to appear.
Vogue reported that the newlyweds’ first dance was to South African singer Lloyiso’s rendition of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love.
The publication then states that Marc Anthony took to the stage much later in the reception to perform his hit I Need To Know.
It was at this point, Vogue adds, that Brooklyn invited his mother onto the stage for a dance, where she was joined by David and their daughter Harper.
That detail appears to directly contradict Brooklyn’s explosive claim that Marc Anthony called him to the stage, and that what was meant to be a romantic dance with his wife was instead interrupted by his mother, who was allegedly ‘waiting in the wings’ to dance with him.
Brooklyn wrote in his statement that his mother ‘hijacked’ his first dance, insisting the moment had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song – a version of events that now sits at odds with the couple’s own published account.
Victoria’s fans have lauded hilarious videos of the Spice Girl showing off her dance moves, flying in the face of son Brooklyn’s claims she behaved ‘inappropriately’
Brooklyn insisted in his statement that the reason he and Nicola chose to renew their vows just three years after their original ceremony was because Victoria had ruined their wedding day, a renewal the Beckhams notably did not attend.
He said: ‘We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.’
The Beckham family feud has been simmering for years, both behind closed doors and in public, with each side desperately battling to protect their version of events and their reputations.
In his lengthy Instagram post, Brooklyn claimed his family had ‘controlled narratives’ and perpetuated ‘countless lies’ to ‘preserve their own façade’ – with ‘Brand Beckham’ always the priority.
But the chef said tensions reached breaking point when Victoria, who first rose to fame as Posh Spice and now owns a hugely successful fashion and beauty empire, ‘cancelled’ Nicola’s wedding dress at the eleventh hour, despite how excited Brooklyn’s wife had been to wear her design.
However, some fans have already questioned the accuracy of Brooklyn’s claims surrounding the dress, pointing to the fact that Nicola wore an elaborate Valentino Haute Couture gown that reportedly took years to design.
In a Vogue article published days after the couple’s April 2022 wedding, Nicola’s stylist Leslie Fremar revealed the dress required ‘years’ worth of conversations with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s team.
Fremar also said the bride made two trips to Rome and attended fittings in the US to ensure every detail was ‘immaculate’ on the big day.
