Maren Morris made an announcement that she will be stepping away from touring indefinitely after completing her summer concert series.
The country singer, 36, did not specify how long she would be taking a break but said she would be pausing her live performances after wrapping her dreamGIRL Tour at the end of the summer.
She explained that she wanted to take time off after working for 10 years with ‘no break.’
Morris, who will be resuming her ongoing tour after attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding over the weekend, has 13 more performances left with the last one being a festival headlining performance in late August.
‘This is sort of my last tour for a bit,’ Morris told Today on Friday morning, just hours before she joined the starry migration to Madison Square Garden for Swift’s lavish and star-studded wedding in New York City.
‘I want to be able to free think more and be in the studio more, and just figure out what I want to say next,’ the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter explained.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter said she wanted to no longer be on the road anymore after working for 10 years with ‘no break’
‘It’s been 10 years of touring, so no real time to stop and truly be creative unless I carve out the time.’
About what she’s looking forward to at the end of her tour, Morris said: ‘I’m excited to be home a little bit more after this run.
‘So we’ll do this string of shows, knock it out and I’ll go home,’ she added.
She also said she wanted to take time off to focus on parenting and spending time with her young child.

Morris shared that she wants to be at home with her son Hayes for an upcoming milestone.
‘My son is starting kindergarten, and I really wanted to be off the road when that began,’ she said.

Morris is currently amid her dreamGIRL tour and has 11 more shows in July. She also has two additional performances set for the month of August before she stops touring
As for when she’ll go back on tour, Morris said she will continue songwriting and recording music in anticipation of her next voyage.
‘I’ll just get back in the studio and figure out what the eff happens next,’ she said.
Her next show is on July 11 in Napa, California, and she will perform 11 shows total as part of her ongoing tour across the U.S., concluding in Bonner, Montana on July 25.
But she also has two additional performances set for the month of August before her break.
She will be going to Nashville for a one-night-only show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut album HERO and a newly released deluxe project titled HERO: A Second Wind.
At the end of August, she will be crossing the pond to perform at the Long Road Festival in Lutterworth in the U.K.
