Christina Hall’s marriage to Josh Hall was so explosive that her kids allegedly begged her to leave him.
The HGTV star made the claim while talking to her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, in the series premiere of their upcoming show, “The Flip Off,” according to a clip obtained by People Thursday.
The show, which will premiere on HGTV in January, features Christina and Josh facing off against El Moussa and wife Heather Rae Young to see who can renovate and flip a home for more profit.
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” Christina told El Moussa through tears in the clip. “They told me, ‘He’s not nice to me.’ Why would I stick around? I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time and I just can’t get out of it.”
Christina — who shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with El Moussa — discussed the family dynamics while confirming to her ex that she and Josh had officially split after nearly three years of marriage.
“We had a blow up… middle fingers in my face,” Christina claimed of Josh, adding, “Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”
Christina told El Moussa that her life since 2016 has been “so hard and so horrible” and that all of the drama has “taken a really bad toll” on her.
El Moussa and Christina got married in 2009 but separated in 2016. The split came after the two got in a quarrel that culminated in El Moussa having guns seized from their family home and him subsequently entering rehab for addiction.
The duo continued to co-host their show, “Flip or Flop,” despite their breakup. However, they ended their run in 2022 after allegedly having a blow-up fight on set.
Over the years, Christina and El Moussa have found a way to smooth out the rockiness in their relationship for the sake of their children and appear to now be on good terms.
“I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost. And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this,” he told her in the clip while comforting her.
Christina moved on from El Moussa by marrying Ant Anstead in 2018. Together, they welcomed son Hudson, now 5, before divorcing in 2021.
That October, she and Josh tied the knot in a secret court house wedding — but they lasted just nearly three years as she filed for divorce in July.
Since breaking up, Christina has been embroiled in a nasty court battle with her estranged husband, and even accused him of stealing money from her and her children.
Last month, Christina also hurled insults at Josh, calling him “insecure” and hard to work with on their show.
“I feel like I was not shining as bright, to try to not make him feel emasculated. But who wants to live like that?” she told “Entertainment Tonight” at the time.
