Jing Tian’s surrogacy dispute has taken another turn, with crypto billionaire Justin Sun Yuchen as well as over 30 million yuan (S$5.67 million) now at the centre of the controversy.
The 38-year-old Chinese actress addressed the allegations in a Weibo post today (Aug 28), writing: “I have not, am not, and will never sell my love for money, let alone my soul.
“I still believe in love, I still lack judgment and I still lack wisdom. But I believe in the law, I believe in kindness, and I believe that justice and fairness will prevail. Time will tell.”
The rumours began after online allegations surfaced in April this year claiming that an actress surnamed J had demanded a large sum of money from her wealthy, unnamed boyfriend under the guise of surrogacy.
Speculations later claimed the woman is Jing Tian.
Screenshots of an agreement written in English, purportedly by an overseas surrogacy agency, subsequently circulated online.
The document allegedly contained the names “Yuchen Sun” and “Tian Jing” and according to local reports, the man allegedly transferred 30 million yuan to Jing Tian to retrieve her eggs.
After receiving the money, she allegedly claimed she couldn’t undergo the procedure due to her menstrual cycle and demanded an additional US$50 million (S$63.5 million). When he refused, Jing Tian allegedly blocked him.
Her studio later denied the allegations as “malicious rumours” and stated that it would pursue legal action.
Sun, 36, made a lengthy post on social media titled My Girlfriend Jing Tian on Aug 27. Although he wrote at the end of the post that the contents are “purely fictional”, he detailed their alleged relationship and claimed that the couple had discussed marriage.
Sun, who is also the founder of the blockchain network Tron, claimed he paid a dowry to Jing Tian’s parents and that the couple had agreed to have a child via surrogacy.

Jing Tian’s agency released another statement on Aug 27 stating they have “the courage to say no” to those seeking to exploit an artist’s reputation and that it would “leave everything to the courts”.
Sun’s lawyer Zhang Qihuai released a statement on Weibo the same day confirming that a lawsuit was filed against a person surnamed Jing and their parents due to a property dispute, with the amount involved exceeding 30 million yuan.
Zhang said an application was also made to the court for property preservation.
He said that Jing filed an objection to the court’s jurisdiction and it is currently under review. Meanwhile, the case has not been heard.
Amid the controversy, Jing Tian’s fans have also raised concerns about her upcoming dramas, fearing that they may no longer be aired.
