Cher recently learned that she is a grandmother to a 15-year-old girl, according to a new report.

Kayti Edwards, the step-granddaughter of actress Julie Andrews, told The Sun on Sunday, April 19, that she welcomed a daughter named Ever during her brief romance with Cher’s younger son, Elijah Blue Allman, in 2010.

Edwards told the outlet that Allman, 49, was not involved with raising Ever because he “never wanted to be a parent.” The former model further claimed that Allman told his now-estranged wife, Marieangela King, about his child with Edwards in 2021, which started “rumors” within the family. The hearsay allegedly reached Cher, 79, who contacted Edwards last year.

“Cher got in touch with me last June and asked if it was true, so I had to confess,” Edwards claimed. “She said she had heard something about it from Elijah back in 2021 but didn’t know if it was just crazy talk. When she heard the news, she was speechless.”

Edwards claimed Cher is “still processing the news” but has started to form a relationship with Ever. The “I Got You Babe” singer even reportedly invited Edwards and Ever to spend the night with her at her home in Malibu in September 2025.

“She was lovely and kind, and we had dinner,” Edwards said of their overnight stay. “Cher asked Ever if she wanted to see her closet and showed her a pair of jeans she had worn in concert. It was a cool experience for her. Cher was very childlike. They played in the pool, and she spoke to Ever about school and asked her about boys.”

Edwards said Cher has also sent Ever Christmas and birthday gifts.

“Cher really is trying. It’s an adjustment, and I’m not pushing any relationship. It has to come naturally,” Edwards continued. “Elijah and his wife always said Cher didn’t want to be a grandma and to keep Ever away, so I was nervous to introduce her, but it’s been nothing but a good experience.”

Cher has reportedly filed for conservatorship of son Elijah Allman amid his alleged battle with substance abuse. Us Weekly reached out to a rep for Cher for comment. People reported that her rep declined to comment.

Elijah is Cher’s only child with her late second husband, Gregg Allman. Cher also shared son Chaz Bono with her late first husband, Sonny Bono.

Edwards’ interview comes days after Cher filed for Elijah to be placed under a temporary conservatorship following his legal troubles and struggles with addiction. The singer requested that fiduciary Jason Rubin take charge of her son’s finances, Page Six reported on Friday, April 17, citing court docs.

This is the second time that Cher has filed for a conservatorship of Elijah’s estate. In her new court filing, Cher alleged that Elijah’s life “has significantly deteriorated” since her last conservatorship petition in 2023, which was denied in January 2024.

Cher alleged in the docs that Elijah spends money “immediately” and “almost exclusively on drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.” She further alleged that her son is being held at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire “in an attempt to restore him to competency to face criminal charges.”
