Chad Lowe and Kim Painter’s daughter Fiona has died, her family announced on Tuesday. She was 13.
In a statement shared with People, her family wrote, “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988,” the statement concluded.
Lowe — the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe and best known for his Emmy-winning role as Jesse McKenna on Life Goes On — and Painter welcomed Fiona, their second child, on Nov. 16, 2012. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, had their first daughter, Mabel, in 2009 and their third child, Nixie, in 2016.
The Pretty Little Liars alum regularly celebrates his wife and children on social media. Last year, he posted a photo of Fiona for her birthday. “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” Lowe wrote in the November 2025 post’s caption. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!
He also previously shared a photo in February 2025 of his three daughters with their arms around each other, as they view the aftermath of their Los Angeles home that was destroyed in the Palisades Fire the month prior.
Lowe, who has appeared in dozens of projects, is best known for his roles in Life Goes On, Pretty Little Liars, Melrose Place, 24, Supergirl and 9-1-1: Lone Star. As for Painter, she’s a film and television producer.
