If Bethenny Frankel is happy for NeNe Leakes on her return to Bravo like she claims to be, she sure has a peculiar way of showing it.
The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum took to Instagram Friday to give her “shady” reaction to Leakes’ long-awaited return to the network for the upcoming series “Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip,” a special celebrating 20 years of the “Real Housewives” franchise.
Although Frankel began the video insisting she was “so happy” and “thrilled” for Leakes, she then went on to say Leakes may be returning to Bravo due to financial woes or to stay relevant.
The Skinny Girl founder then tried to take credit for the road trip show, claiming she pitched a similar series to Bravo producers that would have revolved around just her and Leakes, 58, going “across the country in an RV.”
Frankel, 55, alleged that her pitch was shot down because production said they “could never touch” a project involving the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum because she is “kryptonite and toxic.”
She did not disclose when she pitched the idea but claims to “have all the receipts.”
In her long rant, Frankel also made sure to bring up the “interesting dynamic” she expects Leakes will have working with the network again after filing a lawsuit against Bravo and Andy Cohen in 2022.
“I’ve never in history heard of someone go after a company and take legal action for different accusations, and then that company hire them back. That’s just an interesting dynamic. I don’t know if there are any other examples of that.”
In the suit, Leakes — who left “RHOA” in September 2020 — accused them of “foster[ing] a corporate and workplace culture in which racially insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged.”
However, after four months of “negotiating” between the parties, Leakes filed to dismiss the case “without prejudice,” giving her the ability to reopen it at a later time.
“I think it’s a positive thing in the way that the bridge was not burned because they are doing this show with NeNe with the same concept except this is a different group of people and mine was just about her and I alone,” Frankel said.
“But food for thought because you guys love my the tea,” Frankel concluded, congratulating Leakes again.
But fans in the comments section were not interested in Frankel’s take and begged her to “move on.”
“Most backhanded compliment with slight shade I have ever seen,” one wrote.
“I have literally never seen someone talk about a former employer as much as this woman has. Just move on already,” another added.
Other Bravo fans pointed out the fact that there was already a road trip show with Leakes and fellow “RHOA” alum Kim Zolciak in the works 11 years ago, so they weren’t convinced Frankel came up with the idea.
Leakes and Cohen were able to reconcile after she openly criticized him, while notably, Frankel and Cohen were never able to do the same after her “reality reckoning” — a movement in which she tried to expose Bravo and Cohen.
Cohen and Frankel’s feud continues to rage on years later as the “Watch What Happens Live” host called her a “margarita lady” and slammed her “suffocating” social media videos.
A rep for Leakes did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
