Bad Bunny brought a piece of home to the Super Bowl 2026 halftime performance in more ways than one.

The King of Latin Trap opened the show wearing a short-sleeve sweatshirt jersey on top that bore the number 64 with the last name Ocasio.

Though fans (including Page Six Style) speculated about all the different historical events related to both Benito himself and Puerto Rico that the number could have represented, it turns out the choice was a much more personal one.

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy shared the answer on X Monday morning.

“Bad Bunny paid homage to his uncle who played football by wearing his #64,” he shared.

The rapper layered the look over a white shirt and tie, adding a double-breasted suit also from Spanish fast fashion brand Zara on top at other points in the performance.

The singer opened the show with the song “Tití Me Preguntó,”  dancing through a medley of music alongside the likes of Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin and even a wedding between a real-life couple.

His Grammy award — which he won last week, marking the first-ever Spanish-language album to be awarded album of the year — made it out onto the field in a particularly emotional moment.
