After a fulfilling year in his acting career, Austin Lin is looking forward to some personal time in 2027.
The 38-year-old Taiwanese actor-singer was in Singapore for the cocktail party for luxury timepiece brand Audemars Piguet: Perspective of Time exhibition at National Museum yesterday (Sept 9).
He told AsiaOne in an interview: “I spent quite a lot of time filming overseas this year.
“If I have more time next year to accompany my pet dog, whether to go out or just being at home, I think that would be great.”
In 2022, he adopted a mixed breed dog named Aqua, who turned four in February.
Austin added 2026 has been a fulfilling year for him.
“I feel very lucky to be able to film in many amazing places. These projects haven’t been announced yet, but I enjoyed creating them in special circumstances and look forward to them being released,” he said.
According to a Vibes by 8World report in June, Austin filmed the cross-border adventure reality show What a Trip 2 produced by Mediacorp and Taiwanese production house GrayScale Productions.
He travelled to Spain with local hosts Seow Sin Nee and Herman Keh, as well as Taiwanese singer-songwriter Yellow, rapper Ozi and violinist Richard Lee.
While the roles he had played were challenging, Austin told us he hoped audiences would be able to know him better through them.
He added: “It’s been a year since I last visited Singapore, I feel that time passed very fast. It could be because I have been working non-stop. I hope audiences can look forward [to my upcoming projects].”
Austin visited Singapore in 2025 to promote his action-thriller film 96 Minutes.
He told us he had tried chilli crab when he last visited. On this trip, he ate chicken rice and looked forward to tasting other local delicacies.
Austin also has a good impression of visiting Gardens by the Bay on his previous visit.
He shared: “I laid on the ground to watch the light show at night, it was quite nice. I hope to have a chance to visit again, perhaps for a stroll. Singapore Botanic Gardens is good too.”
