Kim Soo Hyun’s high-profile controversy began after the YouTube channel GaroSero Research Institute released a video accusing the actor of allegedly dating Sae Ron when she was a minor, he was 27, and she was just 15 at that time. Garo Sero claimed that the duo were in a six-year-long relationship from 2016 to 2021.
Seoul Central District Court decision
According to reports, the Seoul Central District Court has approved the seizure of two high-value apartments owned by GaroSero’s CEO Kim Se Ui, following a lawsuit filed by Goldmedalist, the agency representing actor Kim Soo Hyun.

According to K-media outlet Money Today, on June 9, the court issued the decision, targeting a 120.27 msq unit in Seocho Byeoksan Blooming in Seocho-gu and a 208.65 msq unit in Hanyang 4th Apartment in Gangnam-gu, both owned by Kim Se Ui.

However, Se Ui’s property in Gangnam is co-owned with his sister, hence only a 50% stake was seized. The total amounts claimed to 4 billion KRW, which is approximately USD 2.9 million, 2 billion KRW for each property.
GaroSero controversy
Since the start of the controversy, GaroSero has been regularly releasing claimed pieces of evidence against Kim Soo Hyun, including private chats and pictures said to be from their dating time.

However, Kim Soo Hyun denied all allegations of underage dating but admitted his relationship with Kim Sae Ron only after she turned 19. In the press conference, he was caught fighting tears as he revealed his side of the story.
Goldmedalist’s lawsuit
Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Goldmedalist, filed lawsuits against Kim Se Ui and Kim Sae Ron’s family for defamation and violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, seeking 12 billion KRW, which is USD 8.7 million in damages.
Sae Ron controversy
The Sae Ron controversy intensified after the family, along with GaroSero CEO and legal representative, released an audio claiming to be of Sae Ron in which she revealed her physical relationship with the actor. But things changed when the whistleblower changed his statements and admitted the use of AI.
