Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa 2: The Rule is ruling the theatres. However, the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad led to a major controversy. A case got filed against Allu Arjun, organisers and theatre owners after a woman died in the stampede. As per the latest reports coming in, Allu Arjun has now been arrested by the police in the case. Reportedly, he has been taken to Chikkadpally police station.

The tragic incident took place on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Fans showed up in large numbers to watch the film. Allu Arjun visited Sandhya theatre to greet his fans and that called for more crowd. As fans ran toward the actor to catch a glimpse, it led to a stampede-like situation, say reports. The situation got out of control leaving some injured. A 39-year-old woman lost her life. Her son was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. Thankfully the doctors were able to revive him. Post the incident, an FIR got filed against the actor, his security team and the owner of the theatre. Now, reports suggest that the actor has been taken in for questioning. There are videos on social media, of police being present at Allu Arjun’s home.

Post the incident, Allu Arjun had shared a video on social media. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and said that he is there to support them in whichever way possible. He also announced Rs 25 lakh as compensation to the family.

Post the FIR was filed against him, the actor reported moved to Telangana High Court to squash the FIR in the stampede case. He reportedly requested a stay on further proceedings including a potential arrest. Three other individuals were earlier arrested in this case.
