Country singer Justin Moore suddenly announced this week that he is canceling a number of his upcoming shows for undisclosed health reasons.
The 42-year-old was meant to perform two concerts of his own this Thursday and Friday at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
From there he was scheduled to return to his previous gig of opening for Riley Green on his Cowboy as It Gets tour, beginning on June 18 in Holmdel, New Jersey.
Now, however, he has informed fans he will be ‘stepping away from touring’ for a ‘short period,’ the exact duration of which he left unspecified.
He also declined to reveal the nature of his medical issues, though he assured fans he intended to make his way back onstage at some point this summer.
Moore had shared at the end of March that he had recently torn a ligament in one of his knees while skiing but had not needed surgery to address the damage.
The Daily Mail has contacted Moore’s representative for comment.

‘I’ve made the decision to take some time to focus on my health,’ the Til My Last Day crooner wrote on his Instagram page this Monday.
‘As a result, I’ll be stepping away from touring for a short period and will be unable to perform some upcoming shows. This is the right decision for me and my family, and I appreciate everyone’s understanding and support. I look forward to getting back out there later this summer and doing what I love most.’
Moore, who has three daughters and a son with his wife of nearly two decades Kate, received an outpouring of well-wishes including from fellow country singers.
‘Take care of YOU brother and those kiddos and mama,’ wrote Jake Owen, while Priscilla Block posted a stream of heart emojis followed by: ‘love you JM.’
Moore revealed in late March that he had recently torn his Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL), breaking the news on the radio show Country Countdown USA.
‘We just got back from skiing in Aspen, where I tore my MCL like an idiot. It didn’t require surgery,’ he clarified. ‘So that’s the good news.’
While skiing, he ‘went through this trick part. Then my knee went in one direction, and the rest of my leg went in the other. I knew from playing sports that it wasn’t good.’
His right leg was in a brace during his appearance on the syndicated radio program, but he was subsequently able to perform onstage, including last month opening for Green in Nashville during the Country as It Gets tour.

A number of country stars have withdrawn from the spotlight this year, citing various personal concerns including physical and mental health.
Taylor Holder announced on May 11 that he had decided to ‘cancel my upcoming shows,’ writing on Instagram: ‘Over the past several months, I’ve been in a constant struggle with my mental health in ways that I can no longer ignore.’
The same day, Meghan Patrick posted a video explaining that she was rescheduling several of her tour dates to accommodate her pregnancy.
She said she was initially ‘determined not to slow down’ while expecting her baby by her husband Mitchell Tenpenny, because she ‘thought I had to prove that pregnancy wouldn’t change anything and that I could push through no matter what.’
However her conversations with her doctors and loved ones caused her to reverse course as she ‘realized my health and my baby girl’s wellbeing have to come first.’
Later that month, Jake Worthington posted more obliquely: ‘I have a life as my heroes did, but that life gotten a hold of me. I love my family my friends and my fans too much to let it take over me. I need to take some time to work on myself for my wife and daughter. I promise I will come back even better.’
Randall King posted to Facebook in March that he was scuttling his forthcoming live appearances in order to devote his attention to his family, religion and health.
‘My faith comes first and right now I don’t feel right stepping on stage without the confidence that I’m living as the man God has called me to be,’ he wrote. ‘For that reason, I’m pausing touring for the time being. I’m actively seeking professional help and focusing on my faith, my health/mental health, and my family.’
Chase Rice informed his fans in January that, after 13 years of consistent touring, he was ‘exhausted’ and had resolved to stay off the road in 2026.
‘I haven’t been able to be myself on stage in quite a while and really enjoy music and why I got into it in the first place,’ he wrote.
His touring career had ‘finally beat me up to the point where I need to step away for a while’ and ‘go live life so that I have more real experiences to write down.’
