Peyton List is set to explore a new mystery in the third season of Paramount+ series School Spirits.
The drama series will launch with a three-episode premiere on Jan. 28, with the date being revealed at the show’s panel during CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil. List took part in the event that featured the first footage from the new season. A teaser for School Spirits’ third season can be seen below.
“Now she’s back in her body and trying to pick up the pieces of her life,” List says about her character, Maddie Nears, in the forthcoming new episodes. “Her best friend is trapped, and she’s trying to get him out.”
List notes that it’s a challenge for Maddie to know whether she prefers the living or the dead: “She’s fallen completely in love with these [deceased] characters, so it’s really hard for her to choose.”
School Spirits’ new season centers on Maddie (List) as she navigates the responsibility of protecting the dead and the living while also dealing with frightening visions. Meanwhile, the teen’s best friend, Simon (Kristian Ventura), is stuck in the afterlife and focused on unearthing secrets about Split River High. The friends seek to learn why so many people died at the school, and they also hope to understand the warning that Mr. Martin (Josh Zuckerman) tried to deliver.
List, Ventura, Zuckerman, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, Rainbow Wedell, Ci Hang Ma, Miles Elliot and Milo Manheim round out the cast. Season three’s new castmembers include Jennifer Tilly, Ari Dalbert and Erika Swayze.
The series’ latest renewal was announced in March and followed the second season, having increased its audience over the first. “We are so thrilled to bring School Spirits back to our devoted audiences for another season of masterful storytelling brought to life by Peyton List and the incredible cast,” Shauna Phelan, head of live action scripted series and film for Awesomeness TV and Nickelodeon, said in a statement at the time of the pickup for season three.
List is known for her role as Tory Nichols on Cobra Kai. Her feature credits include Valley Girl and Hubie Halloween.
