Hayden Panettiere died in her South Carolina home after an “overdose,” according to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Page Six.
Paramedics responded to a call about an “unidentified female” in “cardiac arrest.”
Within minutes, “CPR [was] in progress” for a suspected overdose.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ on Monday that Panettiere’s friend called 911 at 1:51 p.m.
Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate Panettiere” at her apartment complex with “advanced cardiac life support” and chest compressions, but the 36-year-old was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
There were reportedly no signs of foul play, with the police telling TMZ the circumstances surrounding her death did not appear suspicious.
It remains unclear whether Panettiere’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was the one who placed the call.
Hickerson, who was first linked to Panettiere in 2018 and admitted to “abusing her” in a May statement, flew from Los Angeles to South Carolina with the “Heroes” alum on Saturday.
Her cause of death is not yet known at this time.
Per TMZ, the Greenville County coroner will perform an autopsy Monday.
Panettiere’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
News broke of the “Nashville” alum’s death over the weekend, with her father confirming the “tragic passing” to Page Six “with profound sadness.”
Skip Panettiere added, “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”
